Not very elite, but I do like the characters.

 

Magnus - a hell lot better than his G1 counterpart
Jazz - I think of him as a Bruce Lee wannabe, and nunchuks are awesome  
Sentinel - pushy, stubborn, comic relief and a big wuss
Blurr - waaaaay better than his G1 counterpart

 

When I think "elite guard", I picture a group of bots that have an almost consistent uniform color scheme, are bigger than your average bot, and are exactly what their names suggests: guards.

I think Animated's take on the concept is more "Elitist Police" than "Elite Guard", and they ended up being a little underwhelming since they got their asses handed to them - twice - and really didn't live up to their name. Sentinel seems to have NO skills whatsoever, Ultra Magnus seems more like a close minded Military General than an actual leader of anything, and Jazz & Blurr seem like completely random add-ons that don't really fit the title that they have. I do like all of the characters, but as unified group, they don't make a whole lot of sense to me.

 

Magnus - During the first ep I was not pleased. But as he didn't go blind to
what Prime accomplished. I hope Prime gets his Hammer one day!

Jazz - Love Him! Love his relation with prowl. I would love to see them spar one
ep.

Sent - Im just waiting for prime to knock him on his Ass.

Blurr - I hated his G1 character. Animated character rocks! Love is alt mode!

 

The thing about Magnus is that he's what I expected him to be. I thought he was going to be the wise old elder. But it seems he's more of a sly politician with a really powerful hammer.
