I think the decals are rather weak, very lame actually. They're a mess of florescent lights that make no sense whatsoever. Were they supposed to be inspired by the Cybertronian tattoos live-action Starscream sported? If so, they fell well short of those--heck, those would have be been better than the ones in this game.

Why couldn't we have gotten patterns? Assorted camouflages would have been nice; imagine if we had desert, snow, jungle, etc., much like the Amazon.com exclusive Bruticus color scheme?

Moreover, why couldn't we have had the option of customizing our faction insignias?

How cool would it have been to make your generic Autobot symbol look like these:

or your Decepticon ones like these though newly inspired ones would've been nice too:

 

I usually don't bother with them at all. Like you said, they're pretty weak/lame.

 

I've never even been able to see one clearly enough to distinguish it from any others. Thus I never use them. If they were actually visible then yeah I'd want cool stuff.

I like 'em. They add a nice look to the vehicles that remind me of the flowing energon that were on the character models in WfC but is lacking in FoC. I like those little details like that. I only wish that you could color them what you wanted instead of just blue.

 

Switch your display to Autobot vs Decepticons, they'll be red or purple respectively instead of just blue.

I personally don't mind them, but I would like decals that change your faction logo. G2 logos, BW logos, BM logos, stuff like that.

 

There was a lot of potential for these, but the decals really fell short. I just use Lazer Rods.

 

There's rare situations where they don't look awful, but overall they are severely lacking.

 

I'm sure that's just the faction symbols, but I'm on the game right now and they don't change color based on faction, so....

 

...that's...odd. The decals are team-colored just like the other energon "veins" in your character. If your playing with Friendly Blue vs Foe Red, you'll always have blue "veins" and the enemy will have red, regardless of what team your on. If you have it on Autobot vs Decepticon, your faction colors will determine what are the colors of your decals, "veins", etc.

 

I would use them if they didn't have the big blocky icons on them, the lines, dashes and stuff are cool but the pointless blurry icons everywhere are ugly.

I don't know what most of them are. If it zoomed in so you could actually see them that would help.

 

It walkways looks like a kid took an energon sharpee to the bot or con they're applied to.

 

I don't like them. They just look like little squiggles painted over the robot.
While the insignia thing wouldn't be all that big a change, it would be cool to have the option.

 

I think they suck and I haven't used any. There should really be logos for subgroups like the Wreckers, etc instead of the stupid little lines and designs.

 

They are pretty bad, but I do use them to classify my characters and how I play them.
Pretty stupid of them NOT to include Wreckers, or Lightning Strike Coalition Force, or G2 insignias, etc.
These are just normal logos (Ammo beacon, health regeneration, etc.) in little frames that also add some little details to the parts that they can't fit the logo on.

Personally, I'm more disappointed by voices, though. We should be able to use any voice of anyone in the game, including various generics.

 

I only wish I could get the Wreckers logo.  

 

They're barely noticeable and that's putting it nicely.
I kinda like the Target Master decal though.

 

Funny that's the only one that I haven't bought.
