A few years back, I had a bad experience with a cell carrier, but now that data plans are starting to become prevalent, I was just curious what different people pay monthly for their cellphone plans. What do you get for that price? Do you pay extra for SMS? Are you happy with it?

me and my fiancee got a "family plan" for $30 each. just regular cingular (at+t) service, but with free network calls, 1000 minutes a month, and rollover all adding up to never having to pay for extra minutes, it's a pretty good deal. also, I'm pretty sure that it doesn't exist anymore, so we're grandfathered in, and NEVER going to get rid of this plan.

I have a pay as you go phone from Virgin Mobile. Usually I purchase the $20 top up card good for 90 days seeing as the phone is not used all that often.

My wife and I both have phones. These are our primary lines of communication, b/c we have no land line. We have a ton of minutes, text and more for about $125 a month.

I got a sweet family plan that my mother and I share. She never uses her phone so I get all of the minutes.

My wife and I have a T-mobile shared plan for $70, that seems to be creeping up with taxes and service fees more and more each month.

We don't have a land line.
