First I'd like to say I am not hiding in people's closets. But I do feel we have a diverse population of ages and cultures on the forums here, so I am asking this to see what opinions everyone holds when it comes to things like this.

So I have a favorite celebrity, and every time I see a new pic of him on the web that's cute I save it to my computer. I have a folder with pictures of this celebrity.

So here is the thing I told my friend the other day how many pics I had saved, and he said I was a stalker :( . Then I asked some other people "hypothetically" and some people were saying as long as you aren't sending letters and hiding outside their window it's fine. And some people saying "wow that's too many pictures".

So I was wondering what everyone thought on this, how many photos are too many and stalking?

And just in my defense this actor is middle aged and been in photo shoots since he was a toddler. So there are tons and tons of pics of him all around.

    Who is it?

Anyway, that's not stalking - although you must feel a little weird about it since you have to ask.

Eh. If you're collecting the pictures, locally, to your own PC, that's not really stalking.

If you were out actively pursuing this dude, that'd be stalking.

Saving tons of pictures of a celebrity you like does not mean you're a stalker... you just happen to be a fan of that person.

The only way you can be considered a stalker is if you actively follow that person around in real life... follow them to their house, to the places they frequent, etc. and just try to be a part of that person's life through any means necessary.

Agreed. If you think it's going too far, it probably is.

Well I have about 100 or so that are screencaps from movies, and I'll just say more than regular pics. 60 MB of pics all together with movie promos and screencaps.

Yeah, I feel awkward that I may have too many pics.

Rule of thumb: If you make a thread asking if something is excessive or inappropriate behavior, err on the side of caution. This isn't stalking, but its behavior that some could consider unhealthy.

Does your attraction to this celebrity consume your daily life? Are you unable to go through your day without thinking or talking about them? Are there aspects of your relationships with others that suffer because of this celebrity? Have you done "research" on this celebrity, or do you just appreciate them for their roles? Are you looking at this celebrity as an object, rather than a person?

These are the kinds of questions you need to ask yourself rather than "is what I'm doing stalking".

Stalking is, when you try to contact a person you have interest in although the person does not know you and the person feels not comfortable in how and how often you contact the person and you even try to get to the persons home and other things you should not because you have no real relationship to the person.

Saving pictures is not stalking. Every person I know does that, even saving pictures just from friends and persons they like. That is just normal.

Maybe if you start doing an altar with pictures and cut out paper reports, than it might get a little weird :lol

I wouldn't say it's stalking....maybe a little overkill with all the pics but it's not bad to have pics of your favorite actor/actress.

Now you know you are goign to have to tell us who it is don't you......has this person made a movie in the last 6 months?

See that is what I was thinking! Maybe the people I was talking to thought I had all the pictures plastered on my walls and not on the computer.

I was always big on saving pics of Milla Jovovich, not every new pic that came out, but I did that once. I never really considered it stalking, because I didn't spend my waking life wondering what she was doing at X time or where she was, or send her a bunch of letters. Or try finding her phone number and whatnot, trying to follow her, naming my children after her, taping a picture of her to the front and back of my wifes head, and going berzerk because I am not with her! I MUST FIND HER!!!!!

If you noticed, that last part would be a key example of how someone could be stalking. If you are not focusing the better portion of your attention on this person, and making it your life cause to find this person...you are fine.

Your a Epic Fan Girl nothing more.

to me a Stalker is someone how actively goes out and obsessively pursues someone. I don't mean just turning up to see said person every time they happen to be in town. I mean pursue them to the point of disrupting their lives. I consider the paparazzi stalkers and That type of photography should be made Illegal.
