It's highest point? G1 followed closely by the live action movies.

The best toys, with my limited and subjective viewpoint, was the Generations line (and their ilk).

The best fiction is Beast Wars tied with the current comics.

Characters is tied to the best fiction for good fiction requires good characters.

Well favorite characters can come from any continuity you like. How is G1 a high point? Just curious for opinion.

Using a Star Trek view, G1 is like the first Star Trek series. It might of started it, but it wasn't the greatest either. Beast Wars is like Star Trek the Next Generation. It returns Transformers to tv and became a hit in the line's darkest hour and has since gave rise to many Transformer shows following it. Like Star Trek: TNG did with Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and Enterprise. The characters were new, the story was new, and the factions were new. It was a gamble and it paid off greatly. For me, it laid the foundation on how to make a Transformer series.

I also picked Animated because it took characters that we knew and made them different. Optimus Prime wasn't the great leader of the Autobots, Ultra Magnus was. Many of the characters had this rich complex backgrounds. It was like taking G1 and giving it what made Beast Wars great. Being honest, I wouldn't be a Transformer fan at this point without Animated. Its my second Beast Wars.

Characters: Would have to say all of Beast Wars, as most had their own complex backgrounds. Then Animated for the same reason. Though I would also have to say Scourge from Cybertron, the epic Shockwave from the comics, and the awesome and smart Grimlock from the comics.

I think what he means is it was a phenomenon of the 80's. It sold shitloads of toys and everyone was aware of the franchise. The only series to come close to (if not surpassing) establishing TFs as a household name would be the Bay movies.

Animated is pretty sweet. Painted the Decepticons in a different color for once. Loved the Moral Ambiguity present within the Autobot Government.

Toys but if you asked me what they should focus on, it's the ficiton. That's what really gets merchandise selling for Hasbro.

Highest point in the toys would be Masterpiece, hands down.
Highest point in fiction is a tough one, as everyone has their favorite. From a commercial standpoint, I'd say G1 as a whole, since it's still producing stories, the ever so popular Beast Wars is part of the continuity, and it was the inspiration behind WFC/FOC.
Highest point in characters? Armada Starscream..

What is the best part of the brand to me? The toys. Without them, Transformers would just be another comic/TV property for me to lose interest in when writers take it in a direction I dislike.
