    If so, you should gently remind him that a square is a subset of rectangle, so depending on the question, you may not be wrong (aside from the yelling it out randomly. I agree, something fishy in the missing details. Shennanigans?)

    jesus. i would say there was more to the story, but if the teacher actually called you up and said that what you said was very inappropriate, then that makes it pretty clear that he was just pissed that you shouted "A RECTANGLE!" which makes absolutely no sense.

    unless he interpreted it as "ERECT ANGLE", which could be offensive if he's a fucking moron.
