Being that Fort Max was in the stores around the time of the Stock Market crash in '87/'88, $100 would have seemed like a small fortune to spend on a toy. I can picture them clogging up the shelves with their "massive pricetag" (at the time, that is). If Fort Max was to be sold brand new today in 2009/'10, I wonder what his equivalent-pricetag would be? $200-$300? How many parents would be prepared to fork-out that much for a toy in this day & age? It sure wouldn't be a big seller, that's for sure...

Don't you mean 10, since his size in the box makes it hard to quick carry out of the store, and they didn't make trench coats that big in 1988, or do you mean if you where tho hypothetically take it from the truck or wharehouse?

I figure it was probably in the $80 to $100 range in those days, not that I remember seeing them. At that point I was on haitus from TF's, due to the disaster of Season 3 and the fact that I was one of the many kids who lost their favorite G1 characters in the movie.

If it was sold today it would probably be as much as say a MP figure or even Ultimate Bumblebee or ROTF NOT Devastator (My next choice for a MP figure is MP Fort Max! Nah, that would be fiscally impossible)

Got mine for £40 in a freak holiday gift shop find. Really wish I'd also bought the other two they had on the shelf too.
