Don't people usually clench down when they're constipated? I'd say he looks more like he's shouting.

 

I wouldn't say any toy is ruined by its head sculpt, for me. Sure, there are head sculpts I don't like, but it takes a lot more than that to really, genuinely ruin a figure; it takes a combination of multiple flaws. And flaws like bad design, bad QC, and bad articulation are the real dealbreakers for me.

The closest for me, I guess, would be figures that really deserved their own specific head sculpt but had to make do with ill-fitting repaints, like Classics Cliffjumper or Takara Strafe (the repainted Cyclonus). But again, I wouldn't really consider those figures ruined, just compromised.

Oh, you know, TFCC Punch/Counterpunch and Nightbeat might fit the bill, actually. Just because they actually DID do new sculpts for them, but the sculpts had annoying problems with them.

 

HFTD Highbrow, head sculpt is the ONLY thing stopping him from entering my collection.
RTS Perceptor, love his half-track, hate his head sculpt. I think it's largely the nose.

 

Can't believe no one has mentioned G1 Ironhide and Ratchet yet. 2 pts for me haha. chairs with stickers for heads have gotta be on the list

 

IMO, the vast majority of the movie figures. I'd have to think for others

 

I really hate the head on RTS Highbrow. Not as bad as the twins from ROTF, but not digging it. Same problem with Tomahawk. I'm not a fan of a robot who's head looks like the helmet the human pilot would be wearing if they were really just a plane/helicopter. The heads IMO should stay the same as they would have been on Cybertron. Only the alt mode need be updated to be in disguise. I just don't like the concept.

I rarely (if ever) feel that a head sculpt 'ruins' a figure. The closest I could come in a recent example would be Skullgrin. It's not that his head sculpt is poor, but IMO it's design and color make it feel mismatched with the body it's attached to, like some kind of kitbash where a snarling monster head from a Beast Wars toy is grafted to the blockiest of boxy G1 toys.

 

Movie 1 Arcee. YECH! I actually like the "hairstyle" type thing she's got but that facesculpt is an irredeemable disaster.

 

The first deluxe BB from the movie line, both the 77 camaro and the first concept camaro. The first attempts at the unmasked 'bee were terrible.

 

ROTF SCATTORSHOT!!!! THAT IS THE UGLIEST HEADSCULPT EVER!!!

until he gets a head remold, i will never buy that toy

 

Most of the movie figures. I just don't like piecey "car-wreck" faces on my robots.

mmmm Yes.....BUT, they rectified it with Skywarp/Thundercrackers' heads

 

Headculpt has never and will never be a deciding feature for me, that said there are some i do not like.The scout class Scattershot mold is a good example. Love the figure overall but the headsculpt is ugly. I know some will disagree with me but the WFC Soundwave head sculpt is another i do not like. Its an homage to the g1 of course but i think some of the details could have been done better.
