I've had disastrous results with trying to clearcoat paints with the wrong kind of lacquer in the past, so I figured it'd be best to ask some of you more experienced folks before trying it this time.

I'm trying to coat MPM-3 Bumblebee's car mode specifically.

I've never used clearcoat. I know that my comment was particularly helpful, but your post looked lonely

Hmmmm.... I've only used clearcoat over modeling paint; Vallejo & Tamiya acrylics.

So far good results with Tamiya TS-13 lacquer clearcoat spraycan. No bubbling nor fogging up whatsoever.

I still standby Pledge with Future. I'd recommend adding some Testors flat clear acrylic if you want a semigloss (gloss+flat=semigloss).
