I was just thinking about how 80s G.I.Joe managed to recruit celebrities into its fictional military ranks (Sgt. Slaughter and The Fridge).

So if a Hasbro advertising exec tasked you to develop a campaign around a celebrity to incorporate in the TF Universe, whom would you pick and why?

Remember, you aren't picking the celebrity to play a new character--they have to play "themselves" (in parentheses because Sgt. Slaughter was "in character").

Consider this in terms of modern celebrities or feel free to time travel back to the 80s if you want to construct an advertising campaign that never existed.

Chuck Norris could play the Matrix. Unicron shows up & Prime opens his chest. No Matrix, but Chuck Norris sitting there. He just glares at Unicron. Unicron dives into the sun, killing himself because it is less painful then letting Chuck get him. Prime is sad then because he wanted to cut Unicron's face off but won't have the chance now.

As a character, not a voice actor. Hmmm...

Jack Nicholson - creepy charismatic dude with a Cheshire cat grin

Bill Cosby - a gentle but sharp-witted doctor

    Mariah Carey - a Diva

And some Transformer who's been disgraced thanks to possibly real/false allegations (MJ, Singer, etc).

Christopher Walken...his alt mode could be a cowbell. Or Bruce Campbell! He could be a triple changer-Bruce to chainsaw to boomstick.

I don't think celebrity inclusion would help anything, but going on the 'as themselves' guideline being mostly ignored, maybe Stephen Hawking could assist in space bridge physics, and Bill Gates could secretly fund the research.

Oh, I don't think it would necessarily help the franchise much...I'm just trying to imagine how it would go down if Hasbro tried it again.

But now that you mention Stephen Hawking, Buzz Aldrin did appear in the last movie as Buzz Aldrin...they just never got around to making a little Buzz Aldrin action figure to go with Optimus Prime.

Edit: Neil Degrasse Tyson might be another contender...not only is he a recognizable astronomer, he's also a huge sci-fi geek.
