After Optimus dropped them down, I mean.
prime searched through his remains for his face
he was made into a shelter for the homeless.
I have this wonderful image of Prime desperately scrambling through all of these corpses and looking for faces, like a junkie looking for lost drugs.
"C'mon man, it's gotta be around here somewhere!"
I don't like the idea of Jetfire sacrificing himself, and Optimus didn't even use his parts a full 10 minutes.
I would like to say that they were recycled or reused for his trailer and jet pack in DOTM. But I don't know for sure... Maybe Megatron stole some of his parts to help build his luxury suite in the desert
Eh, they were probably buried some way or another. Or Optimus just keeps Jetfire's corpse in his closet, like an outfit he can change into to fit the occasion.
They rebuilt him and put him on display as the world's greatest hero in a famous place. They pose him shaking his fist in the air and a snear on his face because they wanted to remember him how he wanted to be remembered.
Jolt stole them and flew away.
re-donated to the museum.
"Here's your plane back... sorry about the mess."
He was reassembled, stuffed, and put on Optimus's wall.
It did save the world though, and Jetfire was dying anyway. Scorponok had torn him up so badly that he could actually grab and pull out his Spark.
I like to think that some of Jetfire's parts were reengineered/worked into Optimus' trailer armor in DOTM. He didn't throw off ALL of Jetfire's parts. Just the broken ones, though at my first glance, it seemed kinda shitty how Optimus tossed off the parts of the 'bot who sacrificed himself.
Hasbro took the parts and made an endless supply of Bumblebee deluxe figures to keep all those toy shelves warm for many years to come.
But realise that Optimus was just brought back from the grave and had not been alive for two minutes before he got put down again, covered in random old man corpse and then got in a fight in which most of them got trashed. He took off the heavy parts because they were heavy and that was it.
His face was turned into to scrap metal for Optimus abs.
Ah, I know this one. Optimus shrugged the parts off after pocketing the Fallen's much coveted and valuable face because wearing chunks of some big Decepticon dude is gross. He didn't want to wear Jetfire any longer than he had to, anymore than you would want to wear your dead grandpa like winter pajamas.
The usual human government clean up crews came in and took the Jetfire corpse chunks, along with the other dead bot husks and bits, to be studied and melted down rather than dumped in the ocean only to be resurrected later.
Them humans be learnin from they alien mistakes. Do not drop dead bad robots in the ocean or you might lose a submarine, an aircraft carrier, several trees, a few buildings, and ancient Egyptian landmarks!
They rusted and degraded away like the threads on the movie forum.
*off-screen* "Jetfire, I'm going to need your armor."
"But Optimus, I-"
"IT PUTS THE ENERGON ON ITS ARMOR OR ELSE IT GETS THE HOSE AGAIN!"
This. Optimus is dropping off some of his armor; broken engines, damaged panels, etc.. Think of it like Tony discarding his shattered Mark I armor pieces in the desert. Or a medieval knight shrugging off his armor, dropping his sword and shield and removing his helmet as he dramatically walks towards the queen. Jetfire's parts helped Optimus in a tight spot just like Tony's armor and a knight's armor did. They've served their purpose and now it's done. Yes, Jetfire was a character, but that's the thing: WAS. At this point, Jetfire is gone. Dead. He is merely added armor parts that Optimus is wearing. Could Optimus have saved Jetfire's parts in rememberance of him? I guess. But it's not like Jetfire's body could be reassembled enough to resemble him. It'd basically be like displaying random jet engines and panels and hanging them on your wall to "respect them". You have an open-casket funeral if the body is in one piece and looks fine. You don't have an open-casket funeral if all that's left is broken and mangled limbs and a foot.
Now, don't get me wrong. I would've loved to have a scene where Optimus and the others honour the sacrifice of the noble Decepticon. Or heck, even a "your sacrifice will not be in vain"-line just before Jetfire rips out his spark.
