What are you dumping your money on? Generations or United?

I just want to find out what the general preference was here. Personally, I'm gonna go and preorder the Japanese "United" versions of Lugnut, Highbrow, Tracks and Jazz. My experience is that the Japanese toys usually have better build quality and paint schemes. Green Lugnut and Tribal Flame Tracks aren't the best decorated figures in my opinion, so I'm hoping Tracks gets a better deco over in Japan, and I know Lugnut already does. I don't mind paying $20 more as long as I'm getting a superior product. Anyway, what do you think you're going to get? Hasbro or Takara?

I'm keeping a CLOSE eye on Tracks and Jazz, that's for sure. Same for Scourge and Wreck-Gar, especially for those two's troop-building potential, I may need leaders with a premium paint job for them.

Also, I'm probably going United for Kup, Wheeljack and Rumble/Frenzy if they will be out significantly earlier. We don't have Generations/RTS release announcements for them yet.

Since Henkei, my general rule has been to pay the premium for the 1984 and 1985 cars.

A mix of both. I'm getting both versions of Lugnut and the United version of Blurr since it has way more paint changes to help make it look less like Drift.

Not sure if I'll be getting other United figures. Maybe the Megatron that transforms into a gun.

I am doing a mix of both depending on which one I think has more G1 feel to it. I am defintely getting the Hasbro Grapple as it has the black painted head instead of orange.

Same here. I will do what I did with Classics/Henkei, and will take the version I like the most.

From what we've seen so far, I'll get Hasbro's Darkmount and Blurr, and will wait for pics of Jazz and Tracks to decide for them.

Im going all local. Only ones Ive ever imported were Classics Megatron and Astrotrain. I think they're the only 2 that absolutely necessary to import.

Though, if i were a G1 toy fan rather than a fan of the G1 toon, I would have went local on Astrotrain.

None of the Generations will be drastically different. The pic of United Blurr looks tasty, I like the darker helmet but... still going local.

It's always Generations/Universe/Classics for me, with exceptions made where the Japanese version looks significantly (as in - ten to twenty bucks worth) better to me. Examples include Henkei Astrotrain and Dinobot.

For me, it'll probably be a mix of both. Probably mostly United. Drift doesn't really look different enough to justify the price though. And I think I prefer the Generations Blurr Paint scheme. I already pre-ordered Straxus, Grapple, and Tracks. Hoping that tracks has a MUCH better flame deco on the hood. Going to get United Lugnut. I'll keep an eye on the deco differences and whenever United's is better, I'll go that route.

Oh man, that Blurr looks bad ass. Not sure if it's worth all the extra money though. I do however plan on considering the Japanese versions for the cooler characters. Jazz, Scourge, Wheeljack...etc.
