I think the beasts are a big part of TF history. I'd love to see a Beast Wars movie on the big screen, hell.. I'd love to see it direct to dvd. What do you think the chances are for us getting a BW movie?

As my father was fond of saying, chances are Slim and None.

    Slim left town.

I honestly would not want a Beast Wars movie. I honestly think it was the most wacky Transformers series. Machines disguising themselves as organic creatures? Ridiculous. Also, since it took place in prehistoric times, what need was there to disguise themselves? There were no sapient forms of life around (i.e. people) that they needed to hide from.

^This. I agree that it seemed weird that robots turn into animals. The whole point of transformers is that they turn int cars, trucks, planes, and other vehicles.

The disguises were used to blend in the environment :)  its not like a secret idenity thing, it's more of for stealth purposes, plus the organic shells protected them from stasis lock due to excess energon exposure. Of course, once the opposing sides knew of each others alt modes, thats when it became somewhat useless, thus the returm to more robotic alt modes that were less disguise, more for function.

And yeah, while I like the Beast era, its highly unlikely we'll get a BW themed movie. The closest we'd probably get are pretenders cameos.

Haha, I honestly clicked on this thread, thinking, you are wanting a black & white Transformers movie - lol! ("Sky Captain of Tomorrow" has already done that).

If I remember correctly, Beast Wars eplained the beast mode as a protection against a stasis lock, which would always commence during a bot's prolonged exposure to prehistoric Earth's unstable energon.

I think a movie in the style of Clone Wars would be feasable (financially), but Hasbro most likely feels that the property had it's moment in history already, so a BW movie is likely not on their agenda right now. What do I know? What about a Jurassic Park Crossover? That could at least give us the Dinobots :)

If you guys want a Beast Wars movie, just watch the 1st season of Beast Machines in one sitting, as that's probably much closer (not to mention better) than what a legit "movie" would be.

Did you even watch BW properly? It was pretty clearly explained, and shown numerous times throughout the series. Due to the high amount of raw energy on Earth, it was more than their bodies could handle, hence wrapping organic alt-modes around themselves made their time outside the proaction of their respective bases a lot safer. How many times did bots like Waspinator, Megatron, Cheetor and others end up nearing status lock due to prolonged exposure?

Seriously, Beast Wars was a great show - it doesn't need a live-action/heavily CGI show. It's fine as it is and wouldn't translate well into a film.

    Have you watched the series?

They took organic forms to protect them self's.

And they arent "regular" machines, they are an alien life form.
How is that "the whole point"?

I'd say the chances are right around zero.

Which is kind of a good thing because I really don't want some reinterpretation of characters like Megatron or Waspinator. Knowing Hollywood they would leave out things like Megatron saying yes all the time or Waspinator would be some super ninja voiced by Morgan Freeman.

I love BW to death, if for no other reason than it was my intro to TF, but I'm not really sure it would work out as a Hollywood production.

:sly: ... I actually kinda want to see that, now.

Based on his name, avatar and the way that he posts, he probably joined after the movies and only cares about it just like Eagc7.
