What are some good WW2 shooters (or any shooters in general) for the PS2?

What can I say, I still have a PS2. Sure I'll eventually try to get a 60g PS3, but in the meantime the old PS2 is doing just fine.

So the thread title says it all, "What are some good WW2 shooters (or any shooters in general) for the PS2?"

I never got into playing any historical-based shooters but I would really like to give them a shot. Even if they aren't historical, what about games like Socom or Splinter Cell?

Here are the PS2 Shooters & shooter-type games I own and have played:

    007-Everything or Nothing
    007-Nightfire
    Deus Ex: The Conspiracy
    Neo-Contra
    Dino Stalker (Guncon2 optional)
    Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
    Jurassic: The Hunted
    Killer 7
    Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction
Metal Gear Solid, 2-Substance, 3-Subsistence Limited Edition (if those count)
    Metal Slug Anthology
Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal
    Sniper Elite
    Time Crisis 3 w/Guncon2
    TimeSplitters: Future Perfect
    Transformers (Armada)
    Tribes: Aerial Assault
    Turok Evolution
    Twisted Metal Black
Twisted Metal Head-On: Extra Twisted Edition

    Here's the PS2 shooter's I've tried/rented:

    13
    Return to Castle Wolfenstein
SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: Combined Assault

I love return to Castle Wolfenstein, but I have it on my original Xbox . . . and I'm not sure if it ever came out for PS2, but it is a fun FPS WW2 fictional game :)

It's not WW2, but "Black" is tremendous.

Another not WW2 you might consider is Killzone. I've never actually played it, but some people seem to go nuts over it.

Killzone and Black are the two favourites not listed there that spring to mind.. Neither are WW2 shooters - but you can't go far wrong with a Medal of Honor or Call of Duty. CoD is more about the bug battles and spectacle, whilst Medal of honor starts off like a spy movie, and later games become CoD-but-not-as-good. Sadly I can't recall when the change happened - it may have been MoH Frontline, so the PS2 entries could be skipped in favour of CoD, in the short term.

Medal of Honor Frontline is one of the best WW2 games I have ever played for the PS2. So much that I bought the MOH for the PS3 just to get the remastered version.

I would also suggest Battlefield 3 Modern Combat... but the servers got shut down recently.
