Unfortunately, I suspect that interest in this figure (these figures?) is too low, and the engineering issues too intractable, to warrant the interest of one of the major third party manufacturers. It is not entirely out of the question that smaller pieces - an LED-equipped head, for instance - might be produced.

Having said that, major kudos to echotransformer for stepping up to the plate and producing what appears to be an excellent add-on set. I actually rather hope that a third party manufacturer might be enticed to translate echo's work into a full set; partly for the fans, partly because echo rightly deserves the recognition, but also because this sort of fan / manufacturer interaction could reap larger benefits further down the line.

 

hopefully someone associated with a 3rd party willing to produce these reads these forums.

 

I would be just as happy with a Shapeways version that I can paint as I please. No reason to get third parties involved.

I'm quite happy to see a Radicons/Shapeways design make into a full third party product release by having the design get licensed, not riipped-off, for a change. A step in the right direction. If this works out maybe X-Transbots can work with other Radicons.

 

been keeping an eye out for this... I don't care for 3d printing quality.

As soon as this set gets a proper mold done of it, I'm buying it in sdcc colors.

There is another deco of this mold in stores today too you know... Wonder if it deserves a set too?

 

As neat as these look, I'm really wary of X-Transbots quality of work. My Glider has really loose arm ball joints and one of the landing gears in his wings appears to be stuck and won't come out at all. Spotty fit and finish of this one figure makes me believe that the QC won't be much better on their not-Huffer and not-Pipes too.

 

Supposedly that is a very strong - yes.

I wouldn't be worried about QC. I can't name the company, but X-Transbots has a new Factory that is the same factory used by some other third party companies with great quality toys. So expect a BIG leap in the quality of X-Transbots toys.

 

I am extremely happy that this radicon set has gone full 3P. I remember seeing it and stating that this set needs to see wide release, and here we are.  

Consider it sold. It does to FOC Bruticus what FP did for Energon Bruticus.

 

I really can't wait for this to launch, it really would improve my Fruticus. Any idea how long it's gonna take for it to start selling or how much it will cost?
