    As a collector what kinds of TF figures draw your attention?

    I collect:

    G1/reissues
    Classics Deluxes/Voyagers
    MPs
    3rd party items
    TF Prime line
    WFC/FOC

    Those are what I choose to focus on.

    Transformers with beast modes, that is a sure way to get my money. I don't care if its the best figure ever or a piece of trash, I'll go for it.

    I grew up with the beast era, those just appeal to me because they take me back to my childhood.

    I like figures that are fun to transform. I have a soft spot for little figures that act as accessories to bigger figures, especially turning into weapons and stuff. I love combiner stuff.

    And there are a few characters that i am just bonkers about, like anything music related. So i collect Soundwave and his friends, Blaster and his friends, Jazz, etc...

    I mean i have a HUGE collection with stuff beyond these things, but when i eventually get my numbers down, it's stuff like this that will stay.

    Plane-formers (as long as the robot mode isn't horrible), and updates of classic characters (CHUG lines, etc). Unfortunately, I usually don't have the money to afford either. :lol

    I like figures that are the best representations of a character on a show/game/movie.comic. Just as long as it tries it's best that's good enough for me.

    I'm also into the Prime line a lot but I do pick up figures from other lines that look cool too,

    I focus mainly on:

    - G1 (mostly characters from Sunbow cartoon)
    - G1 Japanese characters (from Headmasters, Masterforce, and Victory)
    - Robots in Disguise (Car Robots)
    - Beast Wars II
    - Classics

    Anything else (G2, Beast Wars, Unicron trilogy, Bayformers, Animated, Prime, etc.) I just have a few select figures from each line.

    Transformers that look ancient. I love those. Also figures with alot of character, like Animated. I love anime styled TFs as well. I collect some Unicron Trilogy, TFP, a little of R.I.D, Classics, WFC/FOC, and Animated.

    More or less agree with this list. As a child of the 80's and early 90's, G1 re-issues, loving the CHUDRts line, MP's, and Prime and WfC/FoC cause I really like Cybertronian forms. I can't really afford the good 3rd party stuff.

    This may fall into G1, but I'm a sucker for Cassette bots and Dinobots. I was a bit shocked but really loving the idea of 'databots', (even if they do look like hockey pucks,) and will be releasing them as legends seperate from the voaygers. Even though cassettes are obsolete, they kept that similar asethetic and applied it to disk's.

    I like the FoC Grimlock, but would wish they would release the other Dinobots as well. It seems its always and ONLY Grimlock.

    I really hope they bring some more G1 goodness to the Generations line like they are doing with Combiners and FoC Soundwave/blaster. I prefer a more G1-esque approach to Generations, but I'm not a brick loving G1 nut. I really like the CHUD line's approach to most of these charaters. With that, I do like scale. That being said, I don't want to tall Wheelie from a Jazz mold (like the small one they released), or small scout/legend Powerglide when the Ultra fits better.

    As far as 3rd Party's, I wish I could afford them, they are Bad-Ass, for the most part, and I think cool interpretations of the characters. Wish I could afford Hercules. Would love to see these people do the Stunticons.

    Alt mode:
    -- I like both beasts and vehicles
    -- "Realistic" is my ideal (i.e. not 'cybertronian', transmetal, futuristic, etc.); though for whatever reasons (probably nostalgia) I enjoy oddities like Fuzors and WfC/FoC.
    -- Dinosaurs, monsters, arthropods, construction vehicles, vintage, and unusual (toaster, Buffalo MPCV, etc.) are favorite 'genres' for me

    Robot mode:
    -- The less human-like the better
    -- Lots of mechanical details are better than flat, featureless 'blocks'
    -- Use as much of the alt as it can; no big chunks left as kibble, every robot part looks like it was part of the alt

    Transformation:
    -- Not obvious; unique
    -- Involved, but not stupidly complex; more parts moving/twisting/folding = better
    -- Majority of the figure should transform in at least a small way; i.e. there shouldn't be a full 1/3 of the alt left unaltered (helicopters are particularly guilty of this)

    Gimmicks:
    -- If it adds another character(s) (i.e. Mini-Cons, Combiners), GREAT!
    -- If it doesn't... I'd like it to be subtle and not intrude upon either mode
    -- Weapons (if applicable) ideally should be part of the alt mode (i.e. how Skystalker/Sunspot's hook-axe-things also form part of their wings)

    Faction:
    -- Decepticon > Autobot
    -- Predacon > Maximal

    Incidentally, Movieverse is my "main" series.

    As long as the vehicle mode is really cool, I'm generally game. I really dig hot cars. Perhaps I should be Speedbreaker/Sideburn? :lol

    Typically, I prefer the more blocky, classic robot/Gundam-esque G1 aesthetic (if that makes sense).

    Characters I like and cool designs appeal to me. Oh and anything that has a nice mixture of colors but isn't too ridiculous.

    These days:

    - G1 stuff, particularly Minibots;
    - TF Prime Deluxes, particularly Takara AM versions;
    - Legends/Cyberverse mostly from TF Prime;
    - Arms Microns and Minicons; and
    - Kreons

    I was a Bumblebee "completist" before, but at present, I'm trying to trim down my collection, selling off mostly the non-transforming ones.
