I really didn't get into anime until my later teens but the more notable titles for me would be:

    - Ghost in the Shell
    - Macross Plus
    - Ranma 1/2
    - Evangelion

Man, when it was airing, Cheese TV was the shit. Without it, I probably wouldn't have been able to watch most of the anime on my list.

    Fellow CHEEZ Fan :D

Man I loved those two blokes that hosted the show, and wow did they get some racy shit past the radar.

As a Cheez fan, I must recommend the English dub of Teknoman, because it is fucking awesome.

Count me as a fellow CHEEZ fan too!
I grew up with it every morning. Jade and Ryan were the absolute best hosts of it back in the day. It really sucked after they left.

I still remember watching Transformers G2 early morning before getting ready for school. And Digimon. Man, those were the days!

I'm old enough to remember Starblazers and Battle of the Planets.

But since everyone here already mentioned them, I'm going to stir the pot a little bit with a little "BUT THAT'S NOT REAL ANIME!" nominations.

Mighty Orbots, Galaxy Rangers, and Gargoyles.

    So there.

Born 1979 and grew up with:
    - Flying House
    - Superbook
    - Voltes V
    - Combattler V
    - Daimos
    - Mazinger Z
    - Gundam
    - Voltron
    - Robotech
    - Astroboy
    - Speedracer
    - Dragonball Z (89' or early 90's forgot which translation and language)
    etc

    Moved to Montreal in 93'
    - Cite D'or
    - Les trois mousquetaires
    - Albator (Never liked it but whatever)
    etc

Stopped watching until I went college
    on top of my head...
    - Akira
    - Ranma
    - Maison Ikkoku
    - Kimagure Orange Road
    - DNA2
    - Appleseed
    - Rurouni Kenshin in the really late 90's
    etc
Old school VHS mastercopies, anime clubs and conventions. I was a member of 3 clubs just to get the entire Kenshin Series and endured many fucking long conversations with smelly anime fanboys.

I watch here and there nowadays.

Ohhh last series I really loved was Hajime no Ippo.

Robotech. Hands down blew my mind as a kid. I was literally hooked on almost every episode starting from the first. It was years later before I ever knew the series was really called Macross, and that there had been heavy editing in order to make the Robotech series. Still, my favorite anime of all time.

Dude those three shows rocked hard. Galaxy Rangers is by far one of the most underrated shows of all time. It really is a gem of unwatched/unpopular cartoons. That show hit so many topics that are crazy scandalous today. Drug addicts, killings, you name it. Absolutely awesome show. The fusion of space and cowboys, timeless.

Didn't necessarily grow up with all of them, but here's some I can recall watching at some point in my earlier years: Pokémon, Naruto, InuYasha, Voltron, Gigantor, Mobile Suit Gundam, Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist, Code Geass, The Prince of Tennis.
