When I was a kid, it was all about Battle of the Planets and Speed Racer. I sure wish they'd release a BotP complete series on dvd. They did a Gatchaman set a few years ago, which was rewritten and re-recorded versions of the original Japan show, and it just wasn't the same. I missed the American voice actors, 7-Zark-7 (yeah I can't believe it either), that awesome theme song and "transmute!" Good times.

Just Samurai Pizza Cats, really. I'd seen little bits and pieces of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z when I was younger, but never watched those shows regularly.

It was only when I was in my teen years, when the TV broadcasts for Gundam Wing and Vision of Escaflowne hit, that I really started to clue into anime.

Dragonball Z and Samurai Pizza Cats for me.
When I got into my teens I was exposed to Macross and movies like Akira and Ghost in The Shell.
That's when I started to get really interested in Japanese animation.

All of these, sans MAR, Crush Gear Turbo and the Narutos, but adding Bobobo-bo-bobo, DICE, Gundam G, TF:Armada, TF:Cybertron, Yu-Gi-Oh GX and Sonic X.

EDIT: And Sailor Moon, mainly because it was on.

Yup these were my favorites too except tranzor z. Amazing how many of these cartoons I saw as a kid I now prefer the Original Japanese Version.

Damn kids, get off my lawn!

I grew up with Star Blazers and G Force/Battle of the Planets, along with the occasional random anime movie on HBO or Showtime.

Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, Yugi-Oh [Which I still think it's awesome..or rather, IT WAS before that GX bullshit], a little bit of Yu Yu Hakusho, I remember Pokemon, but I was never much interested on it.

Dragon Ball and Saint Seiya were actually the first form of media where I was actually picking up the storyarc and characterization [I was a fiver-years old, that's why it's important :lol ], my well-known overanalytical nature can be linked to these two shows.

Back then, Dragon Ball and Saint Seiya were THE SHIT, today, they're cliched and have moon-sized plotholes BUT GOD DAMN'IT, I still love them both.
