Super fan could use a hand from Superman Collectors tend to be pretty close communities, I hope this douchenozzle is found and the guy gets his stuff back
They need to check eBay for someone moving a lot of Superman product and come down on him. Seriously, that is damn low.
To be fair, given that he knows the guys name and an old place of work, any police force worth their pay check should be able to find that scumbag pretty quick.
Gosh, I really feel for the victim. His collection must be one of his only sources of comfort, to take that away is just plain cruel. I can almost feel tears welling in my eyes.
I think you mean IL, unless there are 2 Metropolis's in neighboring states, and I've only been to one of them. ;-)
Sad part is this is in my hometown. The cops probbly will not find him. WoW I am even more ashamed of my hometown now.
Good news! They caught the scumbag! From Bleeding Cool The Man Who Stole Superman, Arrested [Update] Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors KMOV in St Louis have reported that one Gerry Arville Armbruster, suspected of being “Gary”, who stole valuable Superman comics and memorabilia of disabled St Louis man Mike Myer, who he befriended, has been arrested by Illinois police. The arrest came after another robbery of a 76 year old man who was attacked and had his jewelry and money stolen in Granite City, after the suspect conned his way into a cleaning job. The two crimes were linked due to the suspect’s description, and the Superman comics and memorabilia was not only recovered but has been returned to Mike Meyer, their owner. As the news of Mike Meyer’s original loss were reported across the industry, a number of fellow collectors put together a package to send to Mike, that included hundreds of comics and memorabila. I hope no one is going to ask for them back… Updated by Mark: With his original collection returned, Meyer intends to give the comics donated to him to a charity such as a children’s hospital, according to St Louis Today: As for his Superman collection, Meyer now has close to double what he had lost. Smith has about 40 more items ready to be delivered, and dozens more have been promised. Meyer said he wants to take the donations and give them to charity, possibly delivering them to a children’s hospital. “People were generous to me; this is how I can be generous in return,” he said.
clearly the scumbag preyed on vulnerable people. glad they got him, also glad for the support the guy received. kinda renews faith in both the justice system and the country
Man, that sucks for him. It's a crummy world we live in where people steal not only money but highly treasured collectibles as well.
