has new avengers and x-men always been 3.99 and i just never noticed? i thought they were 2.99.
New Avengers is 2.99
the copy i just bought was 3.99
Did you buy it at a comic book shop or elsewhere? Marvel has slowly begun raising the prices of their newsstand editions by $1.
well i work in a mall, so when i dont have time to make it to the comic shop, i head to the book store in the mall. i never knew that though. that sucks, but thanks for the info
This week's X-Men was a double-sized issue because it's #200.
Found this on another board:
yeah, Marvel Previews shows it as $3.99
Maybe it's just for that special SM arc...hopefully...
if its going to be for all titles, i see myself only buying DC comics. This is the reason i dropped the IDW titles.
Even 2.99 is expensive.
yeah, buts thats the norm price for a while.
i can live with 2.99. i can get a comic and a pepsi when im on break at work with just 5 bucks. now the whole system is destroyed!
If they do go up to 3.99, I'll be dropping a lot of comics.
Well, as long as it's no more expensive than a regular IDW TF book which already is 3.99 I don't mind much, but if Marvel and DC are raising prices again I'll be cutting more titles other than TFs for sure. Though most price raises occur by $0.25, not a full dollar.
*sighs* and again with complaining about costs... if I buy a comic in a newsagent, $8 or thereabouts. And with the exchange rate being so good lately, my comics I buy monthly have dropped from $7 to around $5 or $6, depending on the cover price.
Oh yeah. Comics are expensive. Come feel the pain.
Sorry, we're not all as blessed as you are, Mr. Trump.
Trump? Not likely. Just have comics more expensive that you do. That doesn't equate to me having a lot of money; it equates to my hobby being far more expensive than the people who routinely whine about the cost of their comics going up to $3 or $4 or whatever.
I make $1200 a fortnight, here that's a below average wage. Comics are a damned sight more expensive outside the US, as with most things, and I find it amusing the people there who complain about miniscule price increases that can double or more by the time they cross the Pacific.
Do I feel sorry for the people complaining? Hell no. Make my comics $4 in cost and watch me worship at the feet of comic publishers everywhere. Considering only 12 years ago I was paying $1.50 for them, they've jumped considerably here and it's a damned expensive habit.
Yea, but when you buy 30-40 books a month and they all go up even 50 cents, that's still $15-20. If they go up a buck, that's $40. Alsom a lot of people have limits on how much they are willing to spend on items of non-necessity. For something that can take 10 minutes to read, is it worth $4? For a lot of people, no. However much they might enjoy it, the cost plays a factor in things.
Comments like that are not necessary.
I'm also going to point out here I'm buying approximately between $60-$100 a week on comics and manga. And I'm going to re-point out, I'm not saying comics are cheap. I am saying in the US they are cheaper than others who also buy comics but live outside the US manage to get them for.
Maybe they are, maybe not. Depends on currency also. And I buy at least $120 in books now. That's about 40 books. If they go up a buck each, that's $160. There's no way I can budget that. maybe you can but a lot of others can't. And they have a right to complain about it if they feel it inappropriate.
