Did High Moon Studios flip the personalities of Skywarp and Thundercracker?

Maybe I’m mistaken or perhaps I’ve missed something while watching a few scenes at YouTube.com, but I thought it was Thundercracker who was the uncouth brute while Skywarp was the more sophisticated, intelligent soldier.

    Am I mistaken?

So they DID flip their personalities of these two:(  Shame. Thundercracker will forever be my uncouth brute.

I'm pretty sure they got it right. It has been mentioned a few times that Skywarp's teleportation ability would be nearly unstoppable if he wasn't so dependent on direction from Megatron or Starscream.

How so? Though he hardly ever used it in the cartoon, he used it pretty effectively when he did.

sounds like they got it right to me

Thundercracker's always been the more intelligent, stay back and observe type [since ya know, he's not entirely sold on the decepticon cause in the first place] and Skywarp the mindless just wants to break stuff type in the fiction i've always read

I always thought Skywarp was the dumb one, back in the cartoon at least.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure for the most part in G1 TF fiction Skywarp is the load mouth brute while Thundercracker is the undecided intellect.

My opinion was based on what I know of the original cartoon—I know next to nothing when it comes to the comic, as it was pretty scarce in my neck of the woods way back then.

…guess, I’ll have to head on over to YouTube.com to look for some old shows, but I could have sworn it was Thundercracker who was straight up thuggish.

    EDIT:
Were the bios always accurate with what was shown in the show? Now, I know War For Cybertron isn't a one to one G1 story, but it hits all the right notes, which is why I was a bit surprised by this.

Skywarp is the sneakiest of all Decepticons Enjoys playing cruel pranks on fellow Decepticons and appearing out of nowhere to attack Autobots. Not too smart. Would be useless without Megatrons supervision. Top speed of 1500 mph. Can instantly teleport up to 2.5 miles. Carries heat-seeking missiles and variable-calibre machine guns.

...and yes, this bio matches the show.

Actually, I think it's the otherway.

I can't remember. That battle was very annoying at points.

Dude, I'm sorry to say you're grossly... mis-remembering G1. Neither character had much personality, and when they did, Skywarp was always the punk, while Thundercracker was, of the two, smarter.

TC had the deeper voice, though. Maybe that's why you think he was the brute?

Thundercracker was the one who questioned the validity of the Decepticon cause, whereas Skywarp was a brainless hired gun.

Yep. They definitely got the two right. Thundercracker is the intelligent contemplater, while Skywarp is the thug.
