By that logic why are we even talking about how weird it would be to have flesh colored skeletons. He shouldn't be alive, skeletons don't walk around. The color of it should be the least of your concerns.

Seriously though his head is not a "skull" it's the same head he has in Earth mode just without color. And it transforms, it's not a skeleton. There's nothing weird about it having color.
