WFC Optimus has a better design. You should get him if you like intricate transformations.

I think almost anyone and everyone is going to tell you WFC, but I like the new FoC design better.

As a toy...who knows? Until we have it in-hand, it will be hard to make a final judgment.

If you have a chance to pick up the Takara version of WFC Optimus, I think that looks better than the US version, for what that's worth.

I wish I never got rid of my wfc Prime (or did I? hmm, now I wonder if he's still in my bin in the states) but I also like the new design. I really really think these are cheap enough that you should stick with both :)

If you want a toy to switch modes quickly, like say a cybertron deluxe, then it *looks* like FOC Optimus is the better choice.

If you want an intricate, poseable and very detailed figure, opt for WFC Optimus.

Who's to say, once some in hand reviews surface maybe FOC Prime will be the next best thing, but from the looks of it, I highly doubt it.

I'm baffled as to why foc Prime even exists. Seems like a huge step backwards to me.

    Yeah... :(

Thankfully though, WFC Prime is still as cool as ever, and there's at least 2 versions available at retail.

We're not talking earth-shattering amounts of money, and FOC one is several months off.

I'd suggest buy the WFC one for the moment anyway.

Because he is in a video game and if you follow video games NO ONE looks the same from game to game in a series. Always tweeking to keep the look fresh.

It's too early to say. WfC is a wonderfully complex little figure, but that makes him a little tricky to pose and balance. FoC Prime's apparent simplicity might not be a bad thing in this perspective.

WfC is also very panel-y, and there's a clear impression of a grey robot skeleton under all the red and blue armor. FoC has a lot more chunk going on, giving the impression on a more robust robot.

I'd say they both have enough virtues to warrant buying both, especially since FoC is a ways off, and both are relatively inexpensive.

FOC looks better in the game. WFC looks better as a toy.

FOC is supposed to represent a bigger, bulkier Optimus, but to do that right as a toy, they'd need to do a Voyager. As a deluxe, he just looks simple and clunky.

Overall I'd say WFC Optimus Prime.

FOC is nice in alt mode.

The bot modes proportions put me off.

FOC prime looks like he's gonna a bit smaller than WFC and you can see from the pics how he transforms. i'd say WFC. he also looks badass with the Corbot war axe accessory.

Can't say anything yet about FoC, but I absolutely hate the WfC Optimus figure. And "hate" is a word I try to avoid.

WFC Optimus is one of the most cool Optimus designs I'd ever seen, while, to me, the FOC one looks like hott garbage.

I read the post above about looking at videogames and how characters change completely thorughout a series... not true at all.

From Street Fighter to Gears of War, it's common place in gaming for having characters keep the overall same look and aesthetic to keep that attachment that they have to fans ongoing.

However, unlike most mainstream games, I truly believe that no matter how good the Cybertron games are, they're nothing but a catalyst for creating new toys, so of course they're going to have drastic changes in aesthetics just as an excuse to cash-cow on peg hooks.

Unfortunately, for me, it feels like the FOC Optimus is a downgrade from the look of WFC, and with deluxe toys being generally smaller, that's just another strike for me.
