I just received a MISB Generations Cybertronian (War for Cybertron) Megatron. First I'd like to say I have no idea why I waited so long to add this guy to my collection. Aside from this very weird installation error I encountered, I am very pleased with this figure. Really nice representation of WFC Megatron.

Onto the weird part. As I was transforming him into his alt mode for the first time, I found I could not properly transform his right shoulder. No matter what I did, it would not sit in the slot where it was supposed to go. I had no problems with left shoulder, it aligned perfectly against the chest and it's intended slot. However, the right one would not budge. After several attempts of moving the right shoulder (I am surprised I didn't break the thing), I finally decided to unscrew the panels and take a look inside. What I discovered was that the shoulder/arm was installed incorrectly onto the ratcheting joint. They placed it in upside down. Here is a pic:

After I saw this, I simply removed the arm, rotated the joint, and then put the arm back in in it's original position. The joint now looks like this:

That was definitely the problem, considering the front of the figure now went from this:

    to this:

Anyway, I've never encountered anything like this on a Transformer. Granted I haven't been collecting for as long as some of you guys, but I feel I've been around enough and have collected enough to find this strange. I've also gone through quite a few different WFC Megatron reviews, and no one has mentioned anything like this. Or am I wrong? Is this sort of thing known to happen with official TF products?

Btw, I wasn't quite sure where to put this thread. It wasn't a modification or a custom, so I thought the Toy thread would work best. My apologies if it belongs somewhere else.

You realise now you've brought this to light, the little Chinese boy that assembled that Megatron has been dragged from the assembly line and shot?

I had a Universe Sideswipe that came with 2 left arms and I only noticed because it wouldn't transform properly. Luckily, I was able to fix it by swapping arms with a spare figure.

Just the alternate heads. What I wouldn't give for one of those leftover yellow Cybertronian Cliffjumper heads and one of those red Bee heads from the same mold. Actually, a handful of EVERY remold head that was cast into the recycle bin.

I spent months looking for 2010 Lugnut and when I finally found him, I found that one of the pieces attaching his arms to his shoulders was the same as the other. They're supposed to face opposite directions, I guess, and because of this I'm afraid to transform him for fear of straining the part.

I have a reveal the shield jazz that came with two passenger side window sections. The part that flips around to reveal the speakers was the same. It could still barely transform, but the angle bugged me. My fix for this was to just remove both windows so he does not have his speaker gimmick. Now he looks more like the g1 toy. I then added some reprolabels and this guy is now my favorite figure.

At first, I felt bad for the op. Then I feel bad for the Chinese boy. Either way, I'm sad.

I have an animated jazz with two left hands, but it was the only one i've ever seen in stores, and hasbro said "eh" when i asked if it was possible to get a replacement hand.

They have a habit of sending anything they want back to you if you send something in to get replaced :lol

Having toured Chinese factories I can say that I have never seen children working in a factory.
