This has been kind of bugging me for a while now. The Transformers: United releases of the WFC figures from Generations are really kind of weird. I am unaware if Japan got a version of WFC, but if they didn't, who are those toys meant to represent over there? If no fiction exists with those designs in Japan, save possibly pack-in comics (which would be hard to place in continuity), who are they? Simply the WFC guys? G1? Movie?! (Prime MAY be shoehorned in when they get it). I have just been curious as to what everyone else thinks.

Probably G1, like the game/designs were intended.

Everything in Japan gets forced into G1 continuity anyway.

Those Japanese people are the most hardcore Geewhiners ever. Just look at poor old Bulkhead's name over there.

Pre-earth Cybertronian Henkei/United forms. They don't HAVE to be WFC or anything else really. They can easily fit as the Cybertronian forms of the Henkei/United Characters. (so yeah, basically G1)

Henkei had Cheetor and Dinobot in it, so the line doesn't have to stick to any one continuity really.

I think Bulkhead's name change has more to do with the movies than G1, since Animated is supposed to be in-continuity with the movies.

Why does it have to be one, the other, or either? Can't it just be an awesome Cybertronian Optimus Prime?

War for Cybertron was released over there (Just a few days after it came out in the USA). In fact, they specifically mention that United Cliffjumper is decoed to look like the version from the DS version of the game.

Interesting. Was it shoehorned into the G1 continuity?

Isn't it getting shoe-horned into G1 enough here?

It's Takara. They'd probably link Animorphs to G1.
