I don't remember any official source, but based on episodes like "The Agenda," I think they were all Micromaster-sized. Optimal Optimus and Transmetal 2 Megatron were the only ones of comparable size to their G1 counterparts. When, for example, Cheetor transformed, he was the same size as a normal cheetah. I'm not sure there was any mass-shifting in BW. Rattrap didn't shrink down to normal-rat size when he transformed.
How tall were they supposed to be? I can't remember if Rattrap was bigger or shorter than them. I figure Depth Charger was 10ft and Optimal Optimus 15ft?
Bearing in mind Protohumans are smaller than regular humans. Basing off of that, BW characters were roughly human sized. I say human instead of micromaster, because some were tall, some were short. Rattrap's probably shorter than the average middle-aged man. Primal's probably the same, for example. Megatron, however, was always huge even in his first body. In his first Transmetal form, Blackarachnia (a roughly human-sized character) barely comes up past his knees. And Ramage and Depth Charge are pretty damn big, as well. Probably closer to the size of a below-average height Autobot. In Deep Metal there's a scene where Cheetor and Depth Charge are next to eachother, and Depth Charge is easily three times Cheetor's height. I even have images of group shots of all characters in all their bodies together in group-photos for in-scale perspective of the characters.
Some years ago, there was a website that did list heights for a lot of the main BW show characters; unfortunately I have no idea where the hell it is now. The only one I can remember is that Quickstrike was 2 metres tall.
Yuppers. Thanks! Though the perspective should be taken into account, that gives good enough understanding.
It showed Cheetor & Tigatron next to real Cheatas & Tigers. Use that as comparison. I always figured Primal & Rhinox's alt modes were the same size as the real rhinos/gorillas. The Predacon sizes were all too small (Megs) or too large (waspy/tarantulus) compared to the real life version of their alt mode.
Well there was no mass shifting in Beast Wars, so that alone gives us a good frame of reference. I think most of the height estimates mentioned already are probably quite accurate. Optimal Optimus was huge though. Probably not far off a full size G1 Autobot car, although not quite as big as Optimus Prime. Blackarachnia and Rattrap are the smallest I would say.
Oh yes there was. Maybe not in heights, but Dinobot's transformation only exists by mass-shifting. And parts would frequently enlarge or shrink to help asthetics of both modes. I know what people mean by no mass-shifting in BW, but it still... grabs me when people say it.
P'raps these might also be of help? http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...on/251695-autobot-decepticon-exact-sizes.html TRANSFORMERS Size Chart by ~hansime on deviantART
Dude, her entire body. Her legs come from nowhere, as do her arms. Her abdomen goes from bulbous to a thin hourglass frame, and her body, again, no way the spider body and torso are the same part.
