Activision is the devil, games may end up good but you know it was all last minute fumbling and lots people putting in 30 hour days.

Eons ago when I worked for MS, we had those days, but those motherphokers would buy us serious dinner and let us chill for an hour, playing games and shit. I never felt stressed out, even during crunch. They things I hear from EA and Pitfall land sounds not very fun.

Right. It just seems all they've been directly responsible for is media; books, video, comics, etc. The one game I saw them credited for was Halo Wars, and that was created by Ensemble. The next "game project" could be a completely different story, though, as they seem to have staffed up quite a bit, as you mentioned.

I'll trust these HighMoon guys with my Transformers games for now. Bungie would work wonders on Transformers, but these guys have their hearts in the right place, so I wish them success with our favorite franchise.

This doesn't affect me in any way, I'm glad to say. :D

I appear to belong to a rare class of person who owns a 360 and really dislikes Halo.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I wonder what defines "partnership" though. To my understanding, Activision purchased those game studios and owned them. From there, of course, they bled them dry and dismantled the teams.

If Bungie can somehow keep this as a true "partnership", not part 1 of an eventual purchase ... it might be okay.

Still though ... looks like Activision is replacing their online FPS focus from COD to whatever Bungie will create next.

well, Bungie will own what they make...Activision will just produce it. So no big deal...just means we'll get to see Bungie stuff on systems other than the 360. Call of Duty: Reach.....around

Hopefully Bungie can create games on their own schedule. There were large gaps between H1, H2, H3, and Reach. There were many quality improvements along with innovations. Every game (besides ODST) felt like a fresh, logical, step forward.

Activision is notorious for whoring out games on a yearly basis. Rape a franchise until nobody buys it anymore (Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk, non-IW COD), try to find something new.

They want to go from making a "ton of money" to a "$h!t ton of money". The 360 has a shrinking market share because of the PS3. Sticking with Microsoft means that you're locked into one system. Going with Activision means you'll end up on the PS3 ... hopefully not, but probably the Wii too.

We'll see how good their games are without the Halo universe as the backbone.

so if they do make another Halo game (which i dont see why not seeing its MS's cash cow)...will Bungie be doing it or will someone be taking over.

And if someone else takes over it, will it be Halo's downfall...

Maybe we'll get an Oni sequal. Though, not sure who the hell has those rights now.

My thought exactly! I expect Bungie getting the Infinity Ward screwjob sometime in the near future while we RAGE about the utterly broken multiplayer.
