Welcome to the NEW TFW2005.com!

Well, as you can see, we have had our first semi-annual face lift for 2006. Along with some pretty new graphics, there are also some new features available on TFW2005.com for everyone to utilize. Here is a break down.

<b>BOOMBOX!</b>
As everyone can see, our mascot Boombox has more of a presence here in the new layout. You can check out his info page, plus read up on his adventures in his very own BLOG <b><a href="http://www.tfw2005.com/boombox/">RIGHT HERE</a></b>

<b>TFW2005.com Member Blogs</b>
Everyone who is a registered member of the 2005 Boards now automatically has a Blog just for themselves. To get there, click the <a href="http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/blogs">BLOGS</a> link at the top of any page.

If you are logged in, you will see a sidebar on that page, listing your options for the Blog area. If you click <b>My Blog</b> then <b>Create Content</b> then <b>Personal Blog Entry</b>, you make an entry and it will show up on our main <a href="http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/blogs">BLOG</a> page.

Once you enter your first blog entry, from then on, in each post you make on the 2005 Boards there will be an Icon under your name with a link directly to your personal blog. That way members can check in on what YOU have to say.

On top of this, each blog entry you make automatically has a thread created in our <a href="http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/tfw2005-member-blogs.html">TFW2005 MEMBER BLOGS</a> forum, and the members can respond to your rants and raves like a normal board discussion would flow.

Lastly with the Blogs - both the entire 2005 Blog system, and your personal blog, can be exported to RSS/XML, so if you want to syndicate it on other sites or list member blogs you wish to follow in your MyYahoo! page, or similar situation, you can.

-Ebay listings
-Buy / Sell / Trade
-Commentary on the fandom in general
-Toy Reviews
-General commentary, personal thoughts
-Rants and raves
-Whatever else you can think of!

Just remember, we reserve the right to edit or delete any blog entry as we see fit. Board rules apply. (No roms, porn, illegal content, extreme cursing/vulgarity, etc). Keep it PG-13. Any abuse of this system will result in an automatic permanent ban from the site and boards without notice.

<b>TFW2005 MEMBER EBAY LISTINGS</b>
Now any member of the 2005 Boards can enter their Ebay User Name into a field within the 2005 Boards User Control Panel (User CP --> Edit Profile -- Ebay Member Name). If you do this, a special icon will show up under your name on all posts at the 2005 Boards showing that you have items for sale on Ebay, and link the users to a page listing your last 25 recently ending items.

You can see an example of this by clicking the ebay icon under my name in this post, or by <b><a href="http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/member.php?&do=memberauctions&userid=1">clicking here</a></b>. That is NOT my ebay account name, I just picked one randomly and entered it to show how the system works.

This will allow sellers to let the board members know easily what you have for sale all in one spot, in a uniform board-specific manner.

just not sure about the red (subject, status, last access ... in the top, how about a dark yellow? like gold or something)

 

Glad to see some changes to the background colors. The Dark Blue everywhere was starting to get depressing.

 

Hehe, once I started messing with the grey's, I realized how depressing the dark blue was. Good choice of words. For some reason when I come here now I feel happy  

 

with my sidebar on, i have to scroll sideways to see all the message now  

 

Damn, I love it, but I thought my computer was messed up. I was just on like 15 minutes ago and wham!

 

Crap... All the gray in my sig blends in too well with the background now!!! I can't see it!!! Oh well... Time for a new sig pic anyways...

Love the new graphics on the headers... The Shoutbox link is missing on the front page though!!!

 

Oh yeah BTW everyone, Shoutbox is gone. Rarely used (yes i know by some, Razerwire   ), and it was a bit buggy on the backend, causing slowdowns if used heavily.

Sorry bout that, I will look into alternatives for down the road tho.

 

That certainly caught me by surprise. I love the new banner up top, it looks great. Not too sure about the grey yet but it may just take some getting used to. The eBay thing is great idea. The blog is a cool idea but I probably won't use it since I hardly even use my live journal anyway.

The one thing I don't like- the banner is so wide I have to side scroll now all the time. It was enough of a pain doing that before when some threads got widened due to pics or long links, but with the promo banners on the left the only way I can avoid that is to change my resolution, and I sit too far away to do that.

 

It's like a party in my eyes, and everyone is invited!

 

The site is now designed and optimized for 1024 x 768 and Firefox.

If you are on 800, all I can suggest is to move up to 1024, and choose for your fonts to be larger from within your windows settings.

I know it will be an issue for some of you, but had to make a judgement call, and felt it was time to bump up to 1024.

 

Same here. But I guess I will just close it when I am here, then. I like the new colours very much  

edit; what about the quotation wrap? It's hard to see.

Hmm, well the dark blue was a good match with my signature picture. I hope you can put back in some theme options.

Kinda dissapointed by that but if it helps this great site then i'm all for it  

edit: Screw the shoutbox, IMO the site was awesome before but it's even better now
