My name's Mike. I got a G1 Megatron figure when I was 10 or eleven, not knowing what transformers were. I was instantly hooked! Recently, being a lover of scale models (especially gundams when I lived in Okinawa), I decided to try my hand at building some transformers. I found this website while searching for scratch built transformer models, and it inspired me.
I'm also an artist, and plan to post some of my work on here soon.

    Welcome to the forums!

I'm sure you'll find that you can meet any kind of fan here. The very pessimistic angry one, the way too optimistic one who loves everything and then you've also got the weirdos who actually liked kiss...

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. This community has been the most helpful I've ever had the pleasure of being a part of!

Awesome! Glad to have you here, it's a pretty great place, easily my personal favorite Transformers hub on the internet.

I always forget about Kiss until it's brought up randomly like this. What a time that was.

For the almost 3 years I've lerked around this site I've never truly introduced myself. Let me start by saying hello and I started this hobby by watching and loving Beast Wars. The oldest figure I can remember getting was a Transmetal Rattrap.

20180623_155412-01.jpeg All this time it didn't really occur to make an introduction for myself, I just sorta jumped right in on a number of discussions.

So. Been around since... hell, a long time ago. 43 years old, I feel like a dinosaur.

Loved G1. Didn't follow through to G2. Anything from BW up to Armada was off my radar because the art style didn't speak to me, and I was too dumb to realize good story writing and character design in BW at the time. Got back in again when Dreamwave released their TF comics and my wife, (girlfriend at the time) who was too simpleminded back then to realize the $ hole that I would fall into and encouraged me to buy the first issue and also buy various Autobots to jumpstart my collection.

Now, I'm in love with IDW storytelling but not too familiar with the lore since Revolution started. Love the DJD and the Lost Light crew. And if I can be honest here.... I'm just not gelling with Ramondelli's art style no matter how much I love the story writing that comes along whenever he is contracted for an issue. ... and I don't know why on earth he was selected for the cover art for the TF 86 movie BR disc anniversary.

As for toys... I pick Takara over Hasbro releases if possible, if the price is right. Currently sold off most of my unpreferred deluxes, voyagers and leaders to focus on MP-scale bots. I prefer FansToys, MMC, and Maketoys for my 3P fix. Wary of other companies' QC issues and would wait until others make the plunge, feel the hurt and voice their opinions. The preferred 3P of mine, I can buy sight unseen as so far I've been damn lucky.

Crap, I wrote too much. To close, I live in Rainy Vancouver, I'm also a weekly or semi-weekly visitor at A3U. Damn dangerous place to spend $ impulsively. On the plus side, one of the finest opportunities to check out new releases and 3P with my own eyes, listen to store owner's outlook on the industry/toy scene and if time permits pick up commission artwork by Marcelo Matere since he moved up here with his family from Brazil.

Cheers! All the Best to everyone here!
