blah blah blah print is dead blah.

I've always loved EGM, and I am so damn happy to have a new issue in my hands.

for those that don't know, the cancelled "final issue" is available to read online at EGMi - The Digital Magazine | EGMi, as "the lost issue".

there's also an ipad app on the way for reading the EGM digital magazine (which is published in addition to the print magazine).

Wait a minute? You mean they actually briefly made EGM completely digital? Ugh! I can't believe there are actually people out there whom honestly believe that dumb misconception that printing is dead.

    not briefly.

after UGO bought 1up, but didnt want EGM, EGM died for about a year. Steve Harris, it's founder, has brought it back (that's the first new issue up there). To counter the problems with magazines being behind on news due to the long writing and printing process, they have launched a digital version of the magazine, called egmi, that's available to read at EGMi - The Digital Magazine | EGMi. the digital magazine will be posted much more frequently than the print magazine (so it'll stay up to speed with news), but their content will remain seperate.

Got the Ken cover the other day. The section order is a bit odd but its not like EGM hasn't gone through changes before. I have no idea who most of the contributors are though.

The paper they're using is fantastic, especially considering the absolute shit paper that GI started using. I really like the Digital issues too. I've always preffered print layout over website.

EGM was a great gaming magazine. I had a subscription for several years and was so bummed when they shut down.

I'll have to check out the new one and see how it is, after all I believe not everyone that was once there has come back.

Saw this at Wal-Mart yesterday. $6.99. Flipped through it, and it's just as good as before, only super streamlined and in different order. I love it. Only thing I miss is Hsu and Chan and the "Coming Next Issue" section. (which may be there)
