I'm willing to bet there's places in the south where a good 50% of their diet is catfish. :lol

50%? I'd wager that there are parts where it's 70-80.

The most unusual item I ate came from a grocery store in Louisville, Kentucky. It was canned Sheep Brain. The most interesting aspect of eating canned sheep brain is the taste. The closest association with that flavor is tuna. Other than that, I had freeze dried crickets that taste like walnuts and june beetles as well.

70-80 doesn't leave enough room for sweet tea, fried chicken/pork/beef and biscuits with sausage gravy.

Dinuguan - basically pig blood soup. I was at a Filipino friend's house, and since I always felt bad if I didn't eat what her mother made, I decided to try that. She made excellent lumpia and pansit, though. I'm just not into the whole pig blood thing. :(

    Snake!

Snake is the bomb, it is like a foot-long chicken tender.

I highly recommend eating reptile whenever possible. What I wouldn't do for cloned dinosaurs for meat.
