Wierdest I ever found was an unopened G2 Pyro sitting on a shelf in the window display of a drugstore in some tiny australian town I was passing through in 2003. I bought that bugger for about 15 AUD. Box was a bit sunfaded (10 years of Australian sunlight?) but toy was minty sweet.

She's gone, she's not coming back. Calm down, you're safe now. We're all safe now.

I was on holiday way back and went to check out a gift shop I'd been in many times before that I knew didn't do any decent toys. On a high shelf at the back they had six MISB Fortress Maximuseseses. For £40 each. Bear in mind this was Britain and we didn't get Fort Max released.
I bought one, but if only I'd had more money on me. I'd have bought all six if I could.

Since then that shop has gone back to never having any decent toys.

Quite a few small independant toyshops here used to get imported stuff. Not so much now. Which is a pity. I managed to get loads of Beast Machines and RID stuff that way which never got released here officially.

A mate of mine worked in a local charity shop and I often popped in on my lunch break to visit her. One day while chatting I had a rummage around the bargain bins and turned up a Pretender Waverider, only missing weapons and helmet, with a price ticket for 19p. Vwoink, indeed.

I also found a Gobot Water Walk that had been left on a shelf in a supermarket in Holland.
