This was inspired by the dog meat thread. As the saying goes, one man's meat is another's poison. What have you tried or heard of that might be considered weird?

WARNING! I hope not to offend or make anyone squeamish. Please do avoid reading if it sounds too disgusting for you. I hope it's appropriate for this forum, please let me know if otherwise.

    As for me, I've had:
-Offal, basically the innards of animals including pig's intestines, tail, tongue, ears, ox tongues and tail, chicken hearts, liver, gizzard, tripe, etc.
-Clotted chicken blood, it's a bit gelatinous
    -Chicken feet
    -Flying foxes, basically gliding squirrels
    -Wild boar
    -Kangaroo meat
    -Crocodile
    -Monitor lizard
    -Raw jellyfish
    -Sea cucumber
    -Frog legs
    -Escargot (garden snails)
    -Sea snails
-Turtle and turtle eggs (didn't feel that comfortable with this)
    -Wild fern
    -Preserved eggs

I have more that I'll think up as I go along. I hope to hear some stories!

-intestines, hearts, livers, penis, etc from all sorts of animals. Pork intestine is the best and the brains taste just like tofus.

    -Kangaroo & corcodile meat

-cat&snake stew when I was in Guangzhou, China.

-Mao Xue Wang or "spicy bubbling blood stew"

-fried insects: scorpions are actually pretty good.

-raw jellyfish: I am from China and this is my go-to appetizer any time.

-stinky tofu: this is the snack food I grew up eating.

-"thousand year egg": same deal as stinky tofu.

-donkey: this is considered a delicacy.

    -all kinds of weird seafoods.

    -Durian: tried once, almost vomitted.

I put corned beef, corn, and mayo on my pizza. I'm told that's odd.

I'm more for mixing odd foods together. Most everything on your list made me gag and I probably wouldn't try it.

    Scorpions are arachnids.

I guess the weirdest food I've had is frog legs. They really do taste like chicken...slimy chicken but chicken. Also, since the pelvis and legs are all left attached, it's fun to play with the bones when you're done.
Other than that, if it counts, I used to commonly put ceasar salad dressing on hot dogs. It was quite delicious and the only reason I don't do it anymore is my parents rarely buy ceasar dressing now and I don't care enough to buy some myself.

With the exception of stinky tofu, donkey, insects and cat and snake stew, I have tried your list, and I agree with your taste! Durians are terrible...I tried once too, and nearly vomited. My whole family loves them though, it's called the King of Fruits where I'm from.

That sounds pretty good actually. I can almost imagine how that will taste like.

How could I forget frog legs! Nice slimy things. Haven't had them in a while. I've got to try your Caesar idea one day...

So, basically everything the Chinese people eats. (and yes I can say that, I am one afterall). :p

Durion. Go try one of those. The problem with this is, its a love it or hate it thing. My mom and sister loves it. My dad and I hates it. There is no in between.

    We eat dogs as well.

As for eating intestines, etc, all I gotta say is, we let nothing go to waste!

Maybe it's moreso because I'm Filipino, but I've got a comparable list.

Durian (try leaving it in the freezer for a bit before eating, it's better that way)
    Frog legs are awesome
Balut (better back in the Philippines than here in America, the duck is less developed)

And a lot of other things I don't really consider weird at all like goat (meat, intestines, tripe, etc.) and stuff. Tough to say, I don't find a lot of things all that weird. I mean, I had a grilled rat once.

Durian aficionados will scream foul at that idea. :D  They say it ruins the smell and flavor.

Bulls testicles in Iran. They were tasty, until I realised what it was...

I LOVE Durian. I heard that it's banned in airports or something?

I've had coyote, ostrich, bear, and kangaroo. I liked the bear and ostrich. The kangaroo tasted...weird. And the coyote just tasted bad.
I've heard that alligator is pretty good, I want to try that sometime.

    Worm cookies.

Back in high school,a friend and I shared a Natural Resources class, and one of our projects was to make some type of food that had ingredients that you got from nature. So we got some worms, fried them up in some butter, cut them into small pieces, and added them to the cookie dough batter. The next day we got to serve them to our classmates, and we didn't tell them what was in the cookies until after they ate them. The looks on the girl's faces was priceless.

It's pretty tough, best breaded and fried like fish and chips.

Kangaroo I thought was tough like beef, but tasted more like mutton, and absorbed marinade better than beef does.

Ostrich and Emu make some of the best pate I've ever had.

I've had some interesting junk foods, I guess, by the standards of the average north american. Lobster with black pepper, Lamb with Mint Jelly, and Marmite flavored potato chips. Mango slices in chili oil, and mango/chili candies. Hell, I had potato chips designed to resemble bacon in shape, color/pattering, texture, and taste yesterday that were pretty good.

Apparently, testicles aren't good for women because of the high testosterone levels or something. I can't recall what I was fully told, but it was along those lines.

So when you see these ladies with the beards and mustaches, that must mean their diet consists of a whole lotta testicles.
