How many other members have seen this movie? It's probably one of my favorite movies(mostly because it's a Weird Al movie). Discuss!!!
Love it, especially the "Let's Drink from a Firehose!" bit. Weird Al is a Comic God. Definately one of the better movies of the past 30 years, and it really didn't even try to be, which makes me like it more.
I have it on DVD, but to be honest it doesn't really hold up to my memories of it as a kid, though it still has some awesome bits. Conan The Librarian, and Al's enraged rant about Wile E. Coyote and The Roadrunner stand out. Edit: And Wheel of Fish.
Yeah, the what's under the box thing was my favorite part. I just watched this a few weeks ago on Netflix for the first time since I was in elementary school (that's the better part of 2 decades ago), and as stated above, it didn't hold up to my memories of it as a kid, but it's still entertaining.
It is hysterical, I agree. His commentary is also very insightful about the whole process of film making and critics, etc. Its one of the best parody films ever made. The Indy sequence (which I had no idea was models, I thought it was a stage, it looks so very real), Rambo and even 'Gahndi II' is great. I really like 'Compleat Al' too. His brain storming on a video clip for 'Dare To Be Stupid' is ROTFLMAO material.
Weird Al is a genius. I think he's a brilliant songwriter. It's hard enough to write good songs, but he writes good songs that are funny. That's like almost twice as hard. And I'm not talking about his parodies. His original stuff is wonderful. I missed UHF the first time around and still don't have it on dvd. VH1 Classic plays it from time to time and I never miss it. I'm just waiting for it to come out on blu-ray.
His 'snack break' in 'Compleat Al' is great: "Ice cream, carrots, twinkies...and mustard, on whole wheat bread".
I think that they should have put the end of the wheel of fish sketch into the film itself rather than making it a deleted scene.
I remember the movie fondly from when I was still in elementary school. I didn't see it till it came out on video though. My best friend brought it over. "Dude you gotta see this!" Now that it's been brought up I gotta rent it from Netflicks.
This was one of the worse movies ever made....that being said I love it and still watch it now and then. Lesbian Nazi Hookers Abducted by UFOs and Forced Into Weight Loss Programs... all next week on Town Talk.
Borrowed the DVD from my buddy, and absolutely loved the film! "Raoul's Wild Kingdom" had me in stitches... "We don't need no stinkin' Badgers!" Absolutely classic!
