I used a few tried and true model painting techniques on Classics Screamer to give him a weathered/dirty look.

I also painted the inside of his cockpit black as well as the "boobie turbines".

    Dry brush?

Good job but I feel like it's a waste on a toy of that size and quality. If you weather a MP SS then I think that would look great.

:lol  I'd never weather something so expensive, that's why I did it to him, he's only ten bucks.

Good work, DC! I like your approach on keeping the Classics deco but still giving him something more. :thumb

Wow... reminds me of when I'd leave my hotwheels out in the dirt!

    Good job!

hmm, looks like he spent some time in some alcohol in robot mode. I gotta get that horrible red off the wings of mine. apparently all it takes is some 91%

Nope no alcohol, it's all drybrushing/blackwash.

That looks cool and I agree with you on modding a ten dollar toy is much better/less stressful than modding a $100 toy and screwing it up.

Did you use silver paint on the worn areas?

Yup, I used a testors acrylic paint pen, I basically drew a few lines on some scrap plastic, let it dry for a few seconds put a brush in it and lightly brushed across the figure so all the silver accumulated on the corners/edges.

Yeah, it's good to go for the cheap toys to work things out, then go for $100 toy when you know you've got you work down. Excellent work there.

That came out great! Looks like Screamer's been through a few battles now.
