I know it's a stab in the dark but what if Hasbro started kicking out some MTMTE related figures...? I mean they're giving us the Wreckers after Combaticon molds which is a good start. (Thank you Hasbro) Now lets say they keep the combiner premise open and produce some Technobots next... They could take those five figures and give us the MTMTE Scavengers. Krok would be Nosecone Crankcase could be Afterburner Fulcrum could be Lightspeed Spinster would be Scattershot Misfire would be Strafe And there combined mode's name...? Mighty Mega Puncher!!! LOL! I'd save Flywheels for the inevitable Blitzwing mold. Tarn would be WFC Megatron with a new head sculpture of course. What do you guys think?
2012 is almost over and we haven't even heard a suggestion that Hasbro is considering Ironfist or Rotorstorm. That sums up my pointless hopes and dreams for IDW-based figures. Thank you and goodnight.
There's no way I'd want the scavenger repainted from technobots. But what I would like to see is idw characters done in the the usual classics style instead of the comics one just because I'd want to put them with my other classics stuff.
Well lets see..... LSOTW came out in 2010 and were getting five of the Wrecker in 2013. "Spotlight Drift" came out in April of "09" and we go his toy under the Generations line in the Summer of "2010". Which means that if Hasbro wants to make something they can get it out rather quickly. Lets just hope that if we do get Ironfist, Rotorstorm or any of these other rather obscure characters, they don't come with a ridiculous Funpub or exclusive overseas price tag.
There was a similar MTMTE-focused thread a little while ago. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...331-we-need-toys-idws-mtmte-designs-stat.html
Trust me I understand how you feel. But Hasbro will only do what's in there best interest. So what if the Technobot molds are actually great Classic's/Generations style replica's? If so, I personally think that a Scavengers repaint of them "could" be promising.
Yeah....I'm looking at the first couple of pages in that thread and they're talking about everything except actual toys or a premise to making these toys happen.
the IDW look keeps changing to much the WFC/FOC look now it the best bet. I would be happy with a few IDW bots but not to many people that don't do the comics wouldn't have a clue what they are.
Even if they came out with toys based off of some "idw" style they'd be easy to recognize since pretty much all characters in idw are drawn close to their g1/wfc interpretation very closely.
That's mainly the RID book which sadly I don't really care too much about save for a long awaited G1 Arcee. MTMTE has been pretty consistent in it's 8 issues so far. And for the record no one really knew who Drift was when his figure was released in 2010 and that sold pretty well. Keep in mind that his first spotlight came out in April of "09", so if the figure shows promise I don't see only being comicbook famous as a deterrent.
