In RotF, we called him Crabtron.
In DotM, we called him Hobotron or Hobo with a shotgun.

Was he just Megatron in the first movie or was he like Popsicletron or something?

 

Sasquatchatron was quite popular in 2006/2007.

In the movie he was N.B.E-01 and sometimes dubbed "Mega-Man". No really.

 

Back in those days we were HAPPY to have a Transformers movie! We didn't make fun of the villains, we RESPECTED THEM and we called them by their REAL NAMES! None of this nickname whippy slappy from you nicker nacker slackers!

Megatron was Megatron!

You know, 'cause he the first thing he did after being unfrozen was shout his name (can you blame him?) and flail a bunch of extras to death. You have no idea how awesome an entrance I thought that was the first time I saw it.

 

Seriously. Give Starscream some respect, he's not Dorito-scream.

I thought he was "gorilla-kite". I thought I heard that term tossed around back when.

I prefer Giant Space Dorito (aka GSD) myself.

I guess. The only fan-made nickname I even recall was "Hobo with a shotgun" or other hobo-related names for Megatron in DotM. And even that was rare.

 

I only knew of Hobo with a Shotgun. But I thought people were referring to the movie.

 

The arms in RotF and his Voyager toy. Very crablike. I think I may have been one of the first people to coin that term, actually.

 

I called him Stupid Pink Fairy Wings a few times, but that's more directed at the horrible pastel-colored toy than the on-screen depiction.
