The fun continues with more movie basics! Earlier today we reported a first look at movie Skyblast in package. Board member jrxcombinetrain has now provided great pictures of all three of the new basics. The basics are exclusive to Target in the United States, but available at select retailers overseas. EDIT: Back of package pics... Clocker Skyblast Strongarm
Are these repaints of any other Transformers figures?...IE Cybertron or whatever? I never got into those.
Clocker is a repaint of Cybertron Swerve which is a repaint Cybertron Clocker which is a turd of a toy if you ask me
Let me be the first to utter a vehement 'meh'. These completely non-redecoed repaints don't remotely match the aesthetic of the movie line. Keep fighting the good fight, Ha$bro.
Repaints in much nicer colors than the first go round that don't look like the movie toys. Hey why can't people like me enjoy a small win here or there. Looking forward to adding these three to the first three and got my fingers crossed that we might get a few more down the line. At the very least I hope Hasbro starts using darker colors and military colors like these rather than some of the overly bright colors from the past.
Seemes like Hasbro is taking us for a bunch of Douchebags...they just keep spitting out the old tired molds repainted and giving them new names...Come on step up your game Hasbro....New molds for f#@ks sakes.....I refuse to buy a toy that is the same thing I already have but a different color....!!! I guess the 6+ ages don't really care, but I sure as hell am sick of it...rather them not even put'em out if they can't come up with something new....
repeats galore! hmmm... ponder that... it's worked for 20+ years, so why re-invent the wheel? How many of us had Starscream, Thundercracker, Skywarp, Dirge, Ramjet, etc? Or Sideswipe & Red Alert? Bluestreak, Prowl, and Smokescreen, anyone? Ironhide & Ratchet? shall I continue? You can't whine about Hasbro's practice when the dollar signs point to successful results. Yes, thanks to some comics, all those characters have vastly different histories, but the bottom line is you (or parents) bought the same toy over and over again, and 90% of TransFans are gullible to do it again. Same goes to GI Joe fans who buy the same two dozen basic types repeatedly, with the only difference being the head mold and paint. I remember as a teen sitting down with my childhood GI Joe collection (numbering in the hundreds of figures) and throwing away all the "duplicates." After all was said and done, I had about 50 or so figures. Heck, get even more general... Look at all the video games that use the same character over and over.... Ken/Ryu/Akuma/Dan, Scorpion/Subzero/Ermac/Reptile/Rain/Smoke, Mario & Luigi... etc. Or the movies that reuse the same plot over and over and over... redundancy is just part of human culture. oh, and... (for you collectors) redundancy is just part of human culture. redundancy is just part of human culture. redundancy is just part of human culture.
