These are overpriced for what they are. I won't be buying any until they are repainted (I'm tired of the on-screen colors) and cost much cheaper.

I want them. But I don't like them as much as the animated ones. So trying not to pay to much for the set. $7.99 each at most. Then again if this is the line replaceing gravity bots and fast action battlers. That $12.99 point is absurd.

Their gimmicky, and have huge heads. But if they are the same size as the animated activators then I think the shield buttons and afforementioned heads can be forgiven. If just a bit nifty. A lot of animated activators kind of got jammed in mid shift. (lockdown) or it was really unclear what to press on for the auto transformation (bulkhead) . The shield buttons lend some curiosity to these having smoother activation engineering.

Ironhide could be really great. A lot of libertys can be taken with the topkick vehicle in shell forming the robot parts. Its to bad they did'nt make gravity bots ironhide. looking at my gravity bots mudflap the heavy shoulder proportions the autobots got would have fit ironhide really easily.

These've been hiding on BBTS's page for 2010 Activators for a while now. Too bad still no pics.

Itching to see how Starscream looks. I'm not a completist for Activators but I love the concept.

well that's true for the line up we've seen so far.

I just don't want to see FABs make a return when TF3 comes around. Of course I don't have to buy them, but I don't even want to have to look at them.

Why do Activators have to be "replacing" anything? It's just a size class introduced in Animated, and now carried over to HftD.

    EDIT:
    That's ridiculous.

yeah, I never claimed it was rational.

I just think FABs suck. Not just for collectors, for kids too. Activators are fun for everyone.

I personally think FAB's are great for kids, more complicated then activators, but not nearly as complicated as deluxes and all the while represent the characters that are scene on the television and movie screen.

Excellent! I like the looks of the new movie Activators, so I'm glad Starscream is getting one.

Way I see it, if there were no FABs, the main line toys would probably be more simplistic in order to cater to everyone. The FABs are great as "entry level" toys to those who are too young to figure out the complicated transformations.

Heck, they're good for guys like me who can't figure out the complicated transformations!

In theory that's exactly what they should've been. But once you handle them, you notice just how awkward the transformations actually are. And the horrible proportions and limited posability kills them.

Activators are so much more on target.

I've pretty much bought all the FAB molds, so I'm quite familiar with them, I have to say there were very few that I found have awkward transformations, and as far as horrible proportions and limited articulation, well some of those arguements can apply to some of the Activators from Animated and the Deluxes from the movie. Understand I'm not trying to convince you to like FAB's cause it's your opinion, but I do think the intent behind them is not geared towards adult collectors. I can say I hate the Teletubbies, but in reality I'm not their audience.

But that's just my point. I know they're not aimed at collectors. I'd love to recommend them for kids, but I honestly couldn't. I just don't think they're any good for anyone.
