Yeah Hasbro getting full control of Animated and allowing some licensee to put the whole thing on dvd/BD should be a top priority of theirs. It is easily the highest-quality, most-important segment of Transformers fiction not currently in print.

I have a feeling that since shout factory released the GI JOE (DIC) dvd set that there's a chance for Animated season 3 or maybe RID eventually..

Did you accidentally download some T&A instead of TFA? :p

To the OP, maybe ask that guy who puts up the encodes of new TF: Prime episodes here. Perhaps he did the same for Animated back when it was airing and might still have the files. Dunno if he did but it's worth an ask.

I downloaded a torrent for Season 3 off of Demonoid.me.... Still seeding.

I will never get why they didn't release season 3 on DVD.

Hasbro has complete ownership of Transformers Animated, according to Derrick J. Wyatt.

Good. They need to swallow whatever is holding them back and let Shout Factory release the entire series, then.

Maybe it's shout factory that has no desire to release the show, rather than hasbro?

Anything is possible, of course, but I very much doubt it.

SF would have to see Animated as a more lucrative opportunity than Headmasters/Masterforce/Victory.

Maybe they don't, because the three japanese shows were the ones asked for the most.

There's demand for Animated Season 3 HERE, but is there over on Shout Factory's forum?

I was really hoping that after TFA hit Japan that S3 would eventually released with English, and Japanese voice tracks...
I'm confident that one day it'll happen. Just not today.

A great extra for any season 3 or complete series boxed set would be the Japanese intro and ending credits videos - maybe even a mini-featurette on the series in Japan as a whole.

At this point I think leave it another two years, release it on the 30th anniversary and throw in a couple of decent extras to justify it to guys like me who got the first two seasons already. I'll happily buy the whole thing anyway to get the rest of the series, but the more the merrier. The Japanese intro video is a must for a complete collection though, IMO.
