First toy based post, so if a question like this is in the wrong spot; sorry.

I've recently started expanding my Beast wars collection, and I was wondering if the original Waspinator would be able to fit the 10th anniversary head. The 10th anniversary version is a bitch to come across, but I've found his head on Ebay (As well as a couple originals that are pretty cheap). Would it be possible to swap the heads out so I have a screen-accurate head but an original body?

On another note; if it's a better idea to wait for a 10th anniversary to pop up, what would his price range be, loose?

    Thanks.

My impression was that they are the same mold.
The heads should be swappable. They both should be dirt cheap if loose.

You are referring to these figures, yes? Seibertron comparison Gallery.

    Yes I am.

I just realized that the original mutant head isn't the same kind of clasping design I thought it was (Like dinobot). So I guess that means it would be swappable.
    I feel dumb.

Yep. I own several versions of that mold and the 10th Anniversary is just a straight repaint so there should be no problems swapping heads if needed.

Maybe I am missing something, but why would you need to 'swap' the heads?? Wouldn't they be the same?

10th anniversary version is colored; the original is not.

There are a few other color differences as well:

10th Anniversary is front left and original is front right. To be honest, I don't think you can go wrong with either version. Waspinator is easily my favorite BW mold!

Yeah, but I'd like to get a show-accurate Waspinator.

Any idea how much they go for (on average) loose on ebay?

No. The original's is all grey, the anniv. version is cartoon-decoed.

Thanks guys! Feel pretty dumb now, lol. Actually, I have both versions, but I left the 10th Anniversary version MISB and never realized it was more show accurate.

I imagine you could probably get the 10th ani. version for less than $20 here or on ebay.

If you're looking for a "show accurate" Waspinator then why not the Telemocha version? I think that's the best rendition! :ev:

I wouldn't even know where to begin to find one of those for sale. Ebay's only got a couple loose originals.

I guess that's another question I have. Where the hell do you guys buy these things without having to play the waiting game on Ebay?

Well, dunno about the others but I've boys running around Asia region (Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan & China) regularly (& not forgetting that they frequent toyshows ever so often) so that really helps in obtaining exclusives/hard to find releases on my end. :dunce
