Ive been pondering for some time now about how David Kaye apparently alluded to the possibility of Waspinator making an appearance in Animated, every time my mind turns to it the episode description for the season 2 episode 'Black Friday' pops into my head.

    '26. Black Friday
Blackarachnia enlists Prometheus Black - aka Meltdown - to aid her with a dangerous experiment, while Prime and Dinobot Grimlock are forced to team up to stop them.'

Im thinking that in another attempt to rid herself of her organics with Meltdowns help Black Arachnia instead accidently brings into existance Waspinator.
I just think that if he is in the show which is still a rather big IF then the route they would most likely take for bringing another Techno-Organic hybrid into the fray would be via Black Arachnia since the Organic TF seems to be in the context of the setting rather uncommon, it also fits well with Meltdowns 'create a transforming human theory' and the Pretenders nods in Survival of the Fittest also futher lead me to believe this as I always felt that the BW TFs were the ultimate extension of Pretender tech.

Does all seem rather fanwanktastical, even for TFA.

But a Waspinator nod in the same vein as a Pretenders nod - not named as such but drawn in a similar enough manner that most board members here would spasm - is imaginable.

Given BA's colouring I still have hope in the theory that she would try making a 'technorganic-whatevers' army and bam! we get TFA Insecticons. As for the scope of TFA, let's have Waspinator, 2007 Movie Scroponok, and [insert your fave G1 Insecticon here]. All of them purple, black and gold.

Yes, I know that spiders and scorpions aren't insects.

Hey, Bombshell could be another female 'Con (playing on the name).

Sorry, running away with the thread a bit...

Actually I dislike robot pretenders. I would rather pretenders stay Humans that can shift into monsters. (if those poor experiments can even revert to human mode)

If they do put waspinator in the show, then they damn well better give him a toy, too, 'sall i'm sayin'.

    Darned straight.

Though the "experiment" could also be Oil Slick, too...

well, last we saw of waspinator, he was alive on earth. I would love for them to dig him up which would directly link the show to Beast Wars.

An Animated-style Waspy toy would be the bee's knees!

If they linked BW to Animated, it would then link G1 to Animated, and people would flip out and die.

Well, they way that they used the G1 footage leads me to believe that this is a route they could possibly go. I would love it.

They can't say changed future due to BW because they already linked BW to G1 through Binaltech because they based Ravage's body off found technology from BW ravage.

The only way I think linking anything to Animated would be through the 'multiverse' concept much how the Justice Lords were in the JLU:A. Then Animated could exist as an alternate universe and things like Starscreams wandering Spark, And Geewun characters can be pulled in.

And then they could do things like "Remember War dawn? What would happen if Dion was Alpha Trion's first son"

But all of that I think would be significant effort and hurt Animated. And Fans heads would explode. At best it would be neat to see Prime pulled into a multiverse prime battle where Animated Prime teams up against a few other primes and grows because of it.

I don't think all that explanation would be required. All they need to do is find Waspy buried somewhere and activate him. He can just say he went to earth's past in the future. I'm pretty sure they don't need to worry about anything they did on Alternators or binaltech. Since those never had a TV show they aren't really relevant in this case.

I'm guessing by the end of the episode Meltdown is going to end up getting the data he needs for his transforming humans project.

    Oh shi-!

    Chewbacca defense time. (head asplode)

Though I suppose since we already have multiple TF universes, all with similarities and parallel developments, it's conceivable the TFA universe could have "a" Beast Wars where a bunch of future TFs end up int the past, with a Waspinator getting left behind.

That would be far too 'fanwanktastical' though, to borrow IronicHide's term. (I wanna use that word at least once every day now. :)  )

    same here

And its my first time having this notion.
But, all the heavy nods to G-1, and revolutionary toy engineering have brought me over to animated. I'm so satisfied, I may not even see the Bayformers sequel.
