Paramount Home Entertainment will be releasing RANSFORMERS CYBERTRON on 9.13.05.

Hasbro was involved in the development of all three live-action ransformers films.

    SCNR. ;)

The typo in your title was too good to resist.

However, I've never heard of this. Might be one of those internet legends. Fire Convoy looks pretty distinctively like Optimus Prime.

and yet he also hasa good resemblance to the fire engin brothers of gaogaigar

and the team bullet train are a total homage to the bomber brothers of brave express mightgaine and the super liner members of brave command dagwon

Every series of anything can be seen to homage something else if you look hard enough.

i do remember reading at some point that build king was re-purposed from a brave toy... but I can't really recall if anything else was.. it would certainly be in keeping with the rest of that line though if it were true.

It harks back to Transformers Victory more than anything else - which was itself possibly part inspiration for Brave Exkaiser. But I'd not read too much into it.

Megatron though does have a lot of design cues from a gigantic mecha from Goldran:

There might have been some unused Brave concepts in there, but the real giveaway is the level of poseability and the fact the three Car Brothers share aesthetics with the rest, when the Brave shows never had more than one or two stand alone mecha.

I guess there is the possibility that Takara decided to use some cues from Brave when coming back to vehicle Transformers, but the only way to be sure would be to get an interview with the design team of the time.

EVERYTHING about CarRobots, from the name (The Diaclone sub-line name for the toys that would become TFs), to the toy selections ("realistic" cars + Train/Construction Combiner teams {harkening back to Diaclone} Combatatrons {Scramble City Era} FortMax {Headmasters Era}, BlackConvoy/Spychangers {G2 Era} Destrongers {BeastEra}), is CLEARLY intended to be a homage/remix/mash-up of all the elements of the TF legacy up to that time.

I LOVE me some Yuusha, but CarRobots has nothin' to do with it.

Indeed. My favorite example was when the inconsistencies of the movie were being called "homage" to the original series.

^Which will only lead to stupid internet rumours of "RID Megatron is actually Sky Garry! Therefore the Spychangers must be Landcross. Oh, there must be Grandus in there somewhere, let's all search for it like a pack of morons"

    Sorry, couldn't resist. ;)

As a side note, i actually have Death Garrygun's toy, and it is pretty awesome. Aside from lacking the springs in the Micromaster trailers, he's very fun...for about 5 minutes. Then you realise you don't have Grandus... :(

Oh no! I've helped create a monster!

But seriously, Grandus was once rumored to be a reborn Grand Maximus (think it was Prime Saber who suggested it way back when), so Brave Maximus = Grandus?

(Why not? He's already meant to be Fortress Maximus according to Takara's own chronology)
