I recall the second and third films’ plots were leaked through the comic adaptations. When people got wind of the storylines there was mass debate (there was particularly one git who kept posting “Sentinel Prime kills Ironhide” nonstop at IMDb) and though disinformation and misinformation abounded in spades, the damage was done. When each film released, people had known the story and picked holes in it beforehand. (These comic novelizations kind of ruined it IMO. I mean why would you release novelizations containing spoiler information, BEFORE the film released? Tie-in stories, fine, but adaptations of the film?) Anyway I think the fact that there was no real leak reported for the first film was an additional factor to its success. There was majorly the fact that it was an unprecedented live-action TRANSFORMERS film (which gave it a frenzy of interest and speculation), but I find it curious that there were no plot leaks for the first film and plenty for the sequels. Can anyone please explain this situation to me please?
