Was Starscream one of the jets that fired at Megatron in the first movie? I was watch the 2007 TF movie yesterday and I was wondering if Starscream shot at Megatron which makes sense. What do you guys think?

Reign of Starscream states that Starscream was going to shot Megatron, but due to Sam killing Megatron, he was unable to shot him, so its a no, he didnt shoot him

Even when he was asked, Roberto Orci refused to give an awnser

I'd like to believe that, but his behaviour in ROTF and DOTM doesn't bespeak someone so ballsy.

I believe it is him. It'd be typical of him to do something like that to Megatron, in a somewhat sneaky manner (as sneaky as you could be in an MBay film).

The question is why he didn't go for the AllSpark when Sam was carrying it at the top of a skyscraper (before Megatron bust out), instead of shooting down the copter?

It means to be very tough and courageous, often recklessly or presumptuously so.

Movie Starscream in no way ever indicated a willingness to overthrow Megatron. So I doubt it.

I know that. It doesn't describe any Starscream but Armada.

Not being told something =/= it doesn't exist.

In the movie comics, Starscream has a spine. He knows that he's not as strong as Megatron so a direct confrontation is just suicide. Even shooting Megatron in a sneak attack like that is brave, since he runs the risk of Megs surviving and coming after him. No coward would do that. The actual movie Starscream wouldn't consider it.

He abandoned Megatron in Mission City and went to rendezvous with the Fallen on Saturn's moon.

When Megatron confronted him about it he admitted to leaving Megatron to take command for the Fallen.

To be fair, Starscream like everyone else thought Megatron was dead. Only Megatron's arrogance lets him think he can command from beyond the grave.

That still doesn't discount the possibility of desiring leadership.

He still left at the first chance he got instead of choosing to go down swinging. He deemed this conflict stupid and decided to save himself.

Well seeing that the editing of the film strongly suggests that, I'd say yes.
