It's just a repaint of Bumblebee, they could have made something much better like Wheeljack, IronHide or Jazz.

I would say, "yes," since you they get another character from the same mold and just use different paint. It helps Hasbro pay for the mold but I do wish they gave him a different head.

Making a new mold costs money. Releasing an existing mold a second time in different colors helps compensating these expenses.

So basically, every repaint helps funding a new mold.

    The basics of economics.

Want to start paying more for Deluxes?

    You don't?

    Then get used to repaints.

Hmm, are any Transformers really 'necessary'? Necessary for what?

Well, other than help pay for the cost of the mold, fans would of complained no matter what. Instead of people saying "It's just a repaint, it needs a new head" it would be more like "Why aren't we getting Cliffjumper, we got Bumblebee, why not him". I personally think that they made the mold to be able to represent both characters, just with different colors on them. Peace out.

The necessary TFs are the show characters for hardcore TF fans like yours, truly! Like Nevermore mentioned, if selling repaints will help fund the line, count me in.

Yes. Repaints = more money from a single mold = more incentive and money to make new molds.

Now, was the bizzaro silver deco on the hood really necessary? I'll leave that up for discussion. :)

I just wish they had given him a new head. I mean even a few of the con exclusives got new heads, why not Cliffjumper. Other then that I got no compliants about him.

Considering that Cliffjumper was a completely different kind of car than Bumblebee, he should've been a different mold. However, in this day and age of repaints, it was to be expected.

It seems to me that Hasbro made the head right from the start as kind of a hybrid Bumblebee/Cliffjumper. Seems to me that the upper center of the helmet is more Cliff than Bee. The goatee is Cliff all the way. The shape of the helmet overall is Bee. Although both of them have horns, these particular horns are more Bee than Cliff. The face itself is generic enough to be either of them.

Seeing as how the head is sort of a hybrid to begin with, I have no problem using it again.

There have been repaints since the beginning of Transformers, and there will be repaints until the end of it. Nature of the beast.

In the Classics line, as long as the repaint makes sense (and CJ certainly does, as he was the same mold as 'Bee in G1), I'll be buying it.

Yes it was necessary. I always liked Cliffjumper and I'm very happy to finally have an updated version of both him and Bumblebee.

For everybody complaining about not getting a different head mold, bust out the tools. Add some horizontal lines to the sides, shave down the horns and VIOLA.

The silver paint apps should've been dropped though. Plain red would be fine by me. That would've saved 'em some money.

Except it doesn't really look like Cliffjumper. It's just not a very good hybrid. It says Bumble Bee when you look at it. Maybe if they made a piece that glues on to fix the shape of the helmet to make it look more like CJ, then maybe I'd be ok with that, but as it stand it looks all BB to me and nothing like CJ.
