Greetings again fellow Radicons. Today I present to you my paint and bash of Roadbuster using the Yourreflection upgrade kit. I used Testors enamels and for the base primer I used Color Place flat black (Thanks to SonOfNemesis once again for your suggestions and help, and people like ALPHAMAGNUS, Smog, Satomiblood and RodimusDawg for posting such awesome renditions of this guy already and especially Yourreflection for making the kit!) Of course we all have seen the awesome bashes already done using this figure and kit, and while I hope you enjoy this, this for me was really about the paint job, as I am trying to improve that particular area of my skills, if you have seen my recent Powerglide I hope this is a vast improvement in that arena as far as the paint goes. Well, you didn't stop in to hear me talk all day, so here are the pics, thanks for stopping in, comments and crits are welcome, enjoy and God bless!

It's such a great idea. And there's no reason that Hasbro can't release a redeco/retool of his mold for one of the current TF lines. Just remove the obvious molding details of Captain America/Ironman and we should be set.

The reason is because the anime company that owns the rights to Mugen Calibur won't license its likeness to HasTak anymore. They've used his colors a few times with really lukewarm results. But they could just make an updated version like they did with Classics Jetfire to get around copyright, so I don't know. Maybe there's no demand for a character that never even made it in a cartoon.

Anyway, I just bought this mold, it's the first Crossover that's going to actually make it in my collection... after some modification. Can't believe you took the time to clean up the chainmail. What did you fill it in with; I read superglue and baking soda works? Sanding would have made a mess.

That's pretty much what I said in my post. Using this mold would make it different enough from the original Mugen Calibur, just like Classics Jetfire's likeness differed from the G1 toy.

Nice. I think this figure was Hasbro's subtle way of giving us a Roadbuster without actually giving us one. Very nice job.

I was literally going to go home tonight to check out this mold to see if it could be made into a decent RB. Soooo, now I know! I still would like to make him bigger, not sure how to do that yet.

Great work on the paint and all the weapons. it looks great.

That is astounding! The paintwork is really nice, and I'm very impressed with the way you've smoothed out the chain-mail!

I wholeheartedly agree, even though this mold definitely works as Roadbuster, it still makes me sad that Universe Onslaught was recolored into Hardhead instead of Roadbuster. I also would have been happy with the Animated Magnus recolor if they had only changed the head. So close...

Awesome! I'd almost forgotten how sweet that upgrade kit is, and your paint job really brings out the best in it! :)

I do, however, feel like the robot mode needs a bit more green somewhere...

They are still alive and well and still on the boards, your can either hit up destrongerlupus or yourreflection for details on their products, this was a limited run with some proceeds going to Haiti when you bought it. If enough people were to ask for more to be made, who knows what might happen.....I believe the site yourreflection runs is called kidbash, check it out.

    Thank you sir!

I wanted to go the extra mile and remove the Captain American features, so thanks for noticing my man!

After painting this, I have to agree that maybe a darker green might be in order for this to pop a little more, but at the same time, and being a military guy myself, I felt ole Roadbuster would look good with the olive drab green that is so prevalent in the military. Thanks for your honest crit, and for checking this guy out, where exactly would you like to see more green?

Thank you also to everyone who stopped by to see this too!

I love this man, the set really does wonders for the mold. Great job on the paints, it's all very spot on.
