i got mine for about $33 shipped, so that is about the same price as the BBTS markup, which i was fine with paying for him, he really is a great figure, quite enjoyable and just awesome

$40 on the boards is not cool. Your right about that.

The problem is that you think any kids really know about Warpath? We see that lesser known, obscure characters that fans love don't necessarily translate into figures that people will buy. Sure the fans will eat 'em up, but for every one person who'll buy a Wreck Gar, you have a ton more who will buy a Bumblebee, who aren't "fans" that reside on a message board or something. I've got a feeling that at least in Portland, all Wreck Gars bought in stores were by people who know the character previously, or collectors buying for themselves and/or for others. Added that you have only 1 or 2 per case and it gives the impression that such a figure will go fast regardless by any demographic.

I love my Warpath. I'm just not certain it would hook a wider demographic.

35 before shipping isn't too cool either, lot of those around as well. Its a deluxe regardless and 25 "should" be high enough IMHO.

it's just uncommon to see people on tfw list items for what would be considered scalper prices.

however there are definitely reasons for it/charging more than retail. On tfw, it's typically just to make maybe a few, few dollars profit off of whatever the toy. The last person i had a transaction with bought RTS wreck gar and perceptor for $18 each at a comics shop. So, he charged $20 each for them, which I thought was more than fair. As I took it, he charged retail+ service fee + shipping, the latter two I'm more than happy to pay so long as they're reasonable. What merits whether or not the price is a scalper price, in my opinion, is if the "service fee" is just as expensive, if not more so, than the toy itself.

However, there are prices that, regardless of legitimacy in listing, I simply can't go for when buying a deluxe toy. It's not a matter of whether the seller is cheating me or actually bought the toy s/he's selling for an above retail price. it's just a matter of smart-shopping.

that being said, here's to hoping bbts pulls through!

I blame hasbro for releasing majority of 1st wave toys as redecos rather than new molds. Human Alliance Mudflap, Windcharger, Legend Rodimus, Legend Warpath, Legend Wheelie, and Legend Cosmos have not been released at all. Legend Mudflap have been released a lot.
