This is a commissioned "War Within" series Grimlock. I built this custom using a Universe Onslaught, went to town adding battle damage with my dremel and hot knife. The commissioner requested the "teeth" style head, which were hand sculpted using aves fixit and styrene. (kinda hard to see in most of the photos) The head is a combination of the original Onslaught's bottom half, and an alternator Grimlock's top half. The head now is on a ball joint, it no longer lights up.

The chain guns come from a Terminator : Salvation toy, and clip onto pegs on Grimlock's alternate mode, they also rotate up and down.

WWI Grimlock was painted with some custom blends of House of Kolors lacquers and detailed with Testor's Model Master enamels. The 3d effect on the rust and damage was created using epoxy glue.

The paint looks great as usually, but what's with the red hands? War Within Grimlock didn't have red hands.

I think it's the new head. The old one honesetly looked much better. Your painting skills are ridiculous as usual, though. I prefer this battle-worn look over clean, pristine TFs and you deal it out in spades.

I wish I had extra cash, cause I would buy this in a heartbeat. This is the first custom I have seen in a while that has me drooling and wanting. Words can't even say how I feel about this. He's friggin awesome! :thumb  :thumb  !

*edit* I'm still drooling. I can't take my eyes off of it. That battle damage is fantastic. The head is terrific!

I liked the head on the original better, but the extra battle damage and new weapons make this one great as well.

it is, cause I am calling it that. I could have called it Robot Mona Lisa if I wanted to ;)

In all sincerity; the commissioner loved the original, and wanted the same thing; which he got, and loves. As far as the red hands go...no idea, I went with that the first time around, and did it again. Looking at online references, I have no idea what I was smoking that day...
