I stumbled on the trailer of the 2010 direct-to-dvd animated film War of the Worlds: Goliath. It is set 15 years after the first Marsian invasion and follows the story of a crew of the human built tripod and the Earth's struggle against the second Marsian invasion.

Is this a Highlander reunion movie or something?!?

    Peter Wingfield was Methos
    Jim Byrnes was Joe Dawson
Adrian Paul was Duncan MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod

It can't be worse than the 3 novel adaptations released in 2005... can it?

Well, at least now it's a real war. Not just an extermination with a cool title on the front.

Looks pretty lame to me. I've never been a big fan of animated movies, when the movies before it were live action.

    I very much doubt it.

It boggles my mind that movie folks seem to find it impossible to do a decent adaption of WOTW. Its an awesome book, its full of stuff that would look cool on screen and theres nothing unfilmable about it. Not to mention that Jeff Wayne did a better job then all of them just using music and a few paintings.

This movie is win since they have the Red Baron (one of my alltime favorite flying aces) fighting aliens.

Edit: Shame, after watching the trailer for the 5th time, I think the Red Baron dies in the movie..There´s a scene of a pilot being vaped I think it´s him. Hope he goes with a bang tho.

    Ebay:
On the movie poster, it has as producer KEVIN EASTMAN.
is that the same EASTMAN that was of Eastman/Laird, Mirage Studios Turtles fame?
if it is, that might make this a must-see for me.

The only Kevin Eastman that is credited as a producer for cartoons/animated films is THE Kevin Eastman of the turtles fame.

Nice! I am curious to see it. When i read the title i thought it would be a sequel to the Spielberg version. But an animated movie and sequel to the original movie? Its always welcome. ^^
